I arrived late by cycling around 7pm. The road it self was quite dark with no street light. Meaning location wise if u are going to check-in late, better mindful to reach early. It was kind enough that the staff willing to wait for me. He was super friendly and I had a good time.

The place is BEAUTIFUL. They really did a good job rebuilding a Japanese traditional style home which is also quite modern at the same time. Common areas and the rooms are well taken care of. Everything was perfectly clean and both the bathrooms and the kitchen are fully furnished and very comfortable to use. The staff is also very helpful when needed, even if they might not be at the reception all the time.

We had such a nice stay — the owner was so nice and welcoming, she drove us to the onsen and booked a very nice restaurant with sashimis for the dinner. We also had a good breakfast in the morning and she gave us very good advices of where to go next with our bicycles. I hope to come back.

Our stay at the hotel was exceptional. We enjoyed every moment—from the staff, the ambiance, the room, and the place as a whole. A special mention goes to the dinner we had at the hotel, prepared by Chef Kenya Akita, who undoubtedly deserves three Michelin stars. Chef Akita, a Japanese culinary artist, trained for 13 years in France at a Michelin-starred restaurant before returning to Japan to adapt his extensive culinary expertise to the local cuisine. Splendid house that we stayed during our Shimanami Kaido cycling mini-trip. Nicely renovated; softest futons we’ve ever slept on; having a washer and dryer was a plus, especially mid-cycling adventure. I can only imagine how nice the stay would be for dogs and their humans — there are so many amenities, from backyard to sofa steps!
