Monnickendam is very pretty with lovely places to eat and perfectly located for a trip to Amsterdam which we did on the bus in 30 mins. We explored Volhendam, Edam and Marken by bike. There was an information folder written in multiple languages covering everything including how to arrange for medical emergency service or getting a taxi. Or you can drive to the P and R to Metro in. Walking distance to restaurants and to a good sized supermarket. There is a fridge, stovetop and microwave, everything is clean. From the photos I thought the apartment would be dark, but it was not the case, there is lots of natural light! Perhaps the owner should submit new photos as they don't do the property justice.
