My partner and I recently had the pleasure of staying at TheVagar Countryhouse in Portugal, and I must say it was an absolutely enchanting experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms and genuine smiles, setting the tone for a truly memorable stay. 
The location was straight out of a fairytale. Surrounded by lush greenery and picturesque countryside views, we felt like we had stepped into a tranquil oasis. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Our room was like a cozy haven, blending traditional Portuguese charm with all the modern comforts we needed. The bed was super comfy, and we slept like babies every night. The attention to detail was evident, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches that made us feel so pampered. The breakfast, oh my goodness, the breakfast! Each morning was a delightful culinary adventure, and we couldn't get enough of the flavors and freshness. It was a real treat for our taste buds! The best part, though, was the people. The staff at TheVagar Countryhouse were simply amazing. They were friendly, helpful, and genuinely passionate about their beautiful region. They had fantastic recommendations for onsite activities (don’t miss out the jeep tour & picnic !) & interesting sites nearby (visit of Sortelha was our highlight !). We took full advantage of the lovely facilities at the country house. Whether we were lazing by the gorgeous infinity pool, having relaxing massage outdoor, strolling through the charming surrounding of the property, or just lounging in the sun with a good book, we felt totally at peace. Leaving TheVagar Countryhouse was bittersweet; we didn't want to say goodbye to this little piece of paradise. We left feeling refreshed and relaxed. In short, if you're looking for a slice of heaven in Portugal, TheVagar Countryhouse is the place to be. It's a hidden gem that stole our hearts, and we can't wait to go back.

The property is absolutely gorgeous, a stunning stylish 1 Bedroom unit with expansive living area and a well equipped kitchen, all set amongst a large allotment of olive trees and views. Staying here did not feel like a temporary overnight accommodation but rather like staying in a friends beautiful home. The owner, Francisco, greeted us warmly and showed us through the property and was so helpful.

Absolutely Perfect Stay! I recently stayed at this lovely house in Belmonte, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Finding the place was very easy, and upon arrival, I was immediately charmed by the cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The house itself was spotless, well-maintained, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The view from the property was simply breathtaking—whether in the morning or evening, it was a joy to wake up to such a beautiful landscape. The host was incredibly kind and attentive, making sure everything was perfect and offering helpful tips about the area. I truly have nothing to complain about—everything was flawless, from the cleanliness to the amenities. If you’re visiting Belmonte or nearby towns, I highly recommend staying here. The peacefulness, rich history of the region, and convenience make it an ideal choice for both short and long stays. Without a doubt, I would stay here again!

We arrived at the train station waited for quite a well there was no uber driver pick up the order. The owner kindly come to pick us up. And when we leave, it was raining. We walk in the rain with our coats on. A young man drove to us and said that people in the village recognized us and sent him to pick us up drive the station. It's incredible, the people here are as lovely as the village. We made great memories. I'm sure we'll be back one day

    Peaceful oasis in a beautifully, renovated spacious hotel spa that used to be one of the Portuguese Royal family’s vacation home. The food was amazing. Accommodations were restful spacious. The staff was extraordinary. There was hiking a pool, hot tub lots of beautiful vistas to explore, and Parking included. I couldn’t have asked for a better stopping point in my trip through Portugal. When I return, I will stay more than one night.

    Fantastic, beautiful boutique spa hotel. The owners were very welcoming. The grounds are breathtaking. They also have a lovely infinity pool with a view of the valley below. We ended up hiking around their massive property in the company of their dog (we love dogs). Absolutely would stay here again for a longer time next time. There are at least 4 historical villages to visit within an easy drive. Breakfast was exceptional.

    With its old-style walls and the fact that it's built right into the sloping terrain, the house perfectly captures the essence of the mountain village Belmonte. Parts of the rock face are still visible inside and become part of the wall decoration. Being a souterrain room it stays cool during the summer and makes for a cozy little cave.
