It’s 8 min out of town, very quiet and perfectly accessible by tuktuk (host helps you arrange whenever you need) and scooter. Ella is quite easy to rent a scooter, which will give you all flexibility.

The room is spotless clean, with a very comfy bed, good pillows and sheet, the fluffiest bathtowels ever + a big bathroom (a Quality hairdryer available). It's a short 8 minute tuktuk ride to the center of Ella, but we walked it in about 35 minutes. Close to the starting Point of the hike to Little Adam's Peak & 9 Arches Bridge. They are decorating a 2nd room which will be finished soon but right now it's 2 guests only, so we had the place to ourselves. The owners live downstairs and are so happy & quick to help with everything. Hope to be back soon!

It’s just a 6-7 minute walk along the railway tracks from the train station, while the regular road takes about 20 minutes uphill. The location is very convenient for hiking to Little Adam’s Peak and Ella Rock. The Chief Monk welcomed us personally with tea and introduced the temple’s program. Every evening at 6:30, you can join chanting and meditation. The breakfast was very hearty, and during our stay, we spotted small fish, shrimp, birds, and squirrels. Every evening, we enjoyed dinner at the monastery under the night sky—it was an incredible experience not to be missed. We were even able to see fireflies at night! The monastery provides a drying rack, which was very convenient. I highly recommend this unique and unforgettable stay.

The host was a wonderful gentleman who made sure my stay was an excellent one and provided me with useful information during my stay. He even arranged my transfer to Trincomalee which I appreciated. The room itself was very comfortable with a fan that kept the room at a nice temperature as the nights are cool.Nice bed and good hot water pressure.
