There is lake at walking distance to enjoy and also the elephant transit home (elephant protection organisation) is at walking distance to visit. The host is cooking home food for breakfast and diner and it’s really nice very fresh amazing food and amazing sense of hospitality. The hotel also organises trips around they have their own taxi car which is much better than drivers you find outside.

He has a deep respect for the wildlife and the animals and this really comes across in his tours. He even invited me to dinner with his family afterwards which was an honour and a treat - thank you!

We did a 4 hour morning safari and saw many elephants, often without other jeeps around, as well as loads of birds, plus water buffalo and a crocodile. All in all, a wonderful operation. Perfect one night stop for your time in Udawalawe.
