I have been to many acomodations in Alpine regions, and this easily tops out all of them. The atmosphere is super cozy, the room was perfectly clean and modernized with amazing shower and a lot of space, the views around are amazing, and the staff is so nice that I felt bad checking out. The manager helped us out with hiking guidances and gave as a much needed lighter just out of kindness, followed by a lovely Styrian Accordion show (: I really recommend this place and really miss it already

The rooms have duvets filled with alpaca wool, which are incredibly soft and lightweight. Breakfast has a warm, homely feel – in the best possible way. Etmissl was a lovely small village to stay in. The people there were all very friendly. We got lucky and stumbled upon a Maypole celebration that was incredible to watch. The meals in the restaurant were spectacular (e.g. wild garlic ravioli with morel mushrooms in a cream sauce or the lake trout on a bed of stinging nettle risotto). We ate there twice in two days. And one of the owners made a point of coming over to us during the Maypole celebration to explain what the tradition was all about for them.
