Excellent value for money. We found a fully equipped kitchen, living room, dining area and upstairs an enormous bedroom with a wonderfully comfortable bed. Immaculately clean.The bathroom is downstairs, so not for those with mobility issues but for us, this was a wonderful find. Highly recommend.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Emily’s house! The house is not only beautiful and very cozy, but also perfectly equipped with everything you could possibly need – and spotlessly clean. We also enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace and simply taking in the peaceful atmosphere. What truly makes Velvet Fern Guesthouse special is the thoughtful and loving attention to detail: everything was personally and carefully prepared for our arrival, including a lovely breakfast and bikes we could use – such a kind touch! Everything. I wasn't sure what I was getting for the affordable price. I opted for the bunk bedroom that I fortunately didn't need to share with anyone. I had access to everything from the washing machine to the kitchen and bathroom. I was only sharing with one other person who's residing in a spare room here. The host was a gem with goals of turning this into a wellness retreat. Had an amazing massage/healing treatment for an extra charge but it was so worth it. I think I'm one of the first visitors to her home and I can't recommend it enough. This isn't a hotel so if that's what you're looking for this isn't for you. It's a shared living arrangement in a large basement suite. Hostel style living. 4 minute drive to downtown comox, 4 minutes to tim hortons and McDonald's if that's your thing. Also only a 10 min drive to most beaches.
