We stayed for 6 nights and were incredibly happy with this outstanding apartment! It's in an excellent location, close to everything in the old town with supermarkets and restaurants nearby. The kitchen included lots of cutlery/bowls and cooking utensils and basic supplies (pepper, salt, oil, herbs, spices etc) which made cooking at home relatively easy. The bathrooms include soap and there is a dryer and clothes washer with laundry powder. Several fans were available if it gets hot at night as opening windows can let in street noise (though we slept with the windows open and it was fine). The view from the balconies was great for breakfast in the morning and a drink in the evening!

Everything! Kai was the most gracious and accommodating host you could ever imagine. He provided so many extra supplies that one might need while traveling and made sure that all our needs we met, including umbrellas, raincoats and shopping bags if needed. The room was spacious and bed very comfortable. We shared a bathroom, which turned out to be no inconvenience whatsoever. We highly recommend Guesthouse Casa Esperanza in Basel and hope you take advantage of Kai’s wonderful hospitality.

1. Issahn is such a beautiful soul. Very kind and very sweet. 2. The property is very clean. You can tell the host takes good care of the place. 3. There are two very comfortable beds in the room. I had a very sound sleep. 4. There’s a TV with several channels and all the modern apps. 5. The nights were very quiet with no disturbance. 6. The location is perfect. Really close to the center with trams a short walk from the property. 7. Great value for money and I would book it again next time I’m in Basel. 8. A very nice a thoughtful gift after the stay. She allowed me to store my luggage after check out for pick up later.

it was just … a dream! a modest but unforgettable castle experience:) Thomas, the castle manager, was super kind and welcoming. the facilities are practically new - but combined so carefully with the old heart of the castle. the beds are comfortable, there are board games to choose from, and even during the colder months the heating system works great. would recommend a thousand times! (just keep in mind that it requires walking up some flights of stairs to reach the premises) so grateful for this experience ❤️
