We were looking for accommodation near Puerto Viejo. Initially, we wanted something close to the beach, but then we came across this option on Booking.com. The location is exceptionally beautiful. From the entrance gate, you drive uphill for a few hundred meters. The road is good, but a 4x4 is recommended. We were welcomed at the reception and general dining area. A beautiful open space with a swimming pool and jacuzzi, and an exceptional view of the bay of Puerto Viejo, surrounded by nature. The first beach paradises are about a 15-minute drive from the accommodation. The cottage we had was equipped with everything we could wish for. A spacious bed, a beautiful bathroom, two hammocks on our private terrace with views of the sea and nature. The woodwork is beautiful and the entire park is extremely well maintained. The host/hostess is very friendly and the local chef prepared excellent food for us. All in all 10/10 and when we are in Costa Rica we will definitely come back. Big thanks!

First thing - a few hours before you arrive they send you a message that they accept only cash. So you need to run and get some cash from the ATM if you find one. While giving them cash they don’t even have any change to give you back. They force you to stay until the boss arrives next morning to give you the change despite your plan to leave before he comes. So they are not even prepared for you to pay in cash. Forget about getting a receipt. Next, the houses are not prepared for the guests and need some repairs first. The problem with the light switch that didn’t work was just the beginning. Two out of 3 external doors lacked locks so anybody could enter your house while you were out. I reported this and the first 3 hours of my stay I was completely locked there since the guy was trying to fix the problems and knocked on my doors back and forth. WiFi of course didn't work, the guy reboot the central router by it only helped for about 15 minutes. So you are completely out since the telecom internet signal doesn’t work there either, so you can not plan your next day, make bank transfers, etc. Don't recommend. They should make sure everything is working properly first before they welcome guests.

We would definitively recommend this place. They exceeded our expectaions. The room was beautiful, large with a minimalist interior, well furnished and very very clean. Also, Caroline the girl on the reception was amazing, very nice and highly proactive, she supported us with all our requests.     Absolutely LOVED this place! Super location, just a few steps away from the beach. The house itself is super nice with the huge windows which gives you a very close jungle experience. The owner is very nice, gives recommendations about what to do in the area and replies to messages very quickly. Would love to visit again!
