ItalyThe location Is perfect if you are looking for the authentic "Lapland experience": in the middle of nowhere, but still not super far from rovaniemi.
I would highly recommend going in winter period, when the lake just in front of the logs is frozen. For people who never did it, walk on an iced lake is a unique experience. But if you add the cross country skiing on it, ice fishing, ice skating and more, then you create lifelong memories for sure. Of course you won't experience a lot of daylight, but in my opinion the mild light created even more of a out of the world atmosphere.
Remember that cross country skiing, ice skating, ice fishing, a bit of sledge down the hill and maybe even something else I can't remember are all free! So in my case, I stayed two days where we did all these activity and we payed nothing.
Other then these I would recommend the sauna. We did the 20 euros one, with bath on shallow iced waters and it was great. Last but not least the host took us to a tour of the place where they keep all the husky, explaining with passion everything about them. It was super interesting.
Talking of which, i think one our favorite things was the host availability. Since we arrived she always was available and kind, explaining everything in detail and most of all with passion, talking about aurora, explaining in details how to ice fish and showing the huskies, telling us all she knew about it. Even before going, since I had some problems with the booking (not because of them but because of the platform) she was always kind and helpful. I think that one of the things we will carry with us forever.
Last, the logs are nice, small but with all that's necessary in them and close one to each other.
