While cycling through Belgium and France with a group of friends, we found a lovely stop: Ribeaufontaine. It is a peaceful place, far away from noise and stress. From the moment we arrived, we felt calm and welcome. The rooms were cosy and comfortable, each with its own style. Not like the big hotels where every room looks the same, but warm and personal. After a long day on the bike, it was the perfect place to rest. For dinner, we invited a local restaurant to cook for us. The food was simple but very tasty. Breakfast the next morning was also great – fresh bread, local products, and plenty to eat. At night, we enjoyed a beautiful sky full of stars. Without city lights, it was like we could see every single one. If you want to relax, enjoy good food, and see an amazing night sky, Ribeaufontaine is a place you should visit.

Isobel and her husband were not only great hosts (exceptionally friendly) in the normal sense of the word, waiting for us on arrival and showing us to our room, but went above and beyond to help us with a motoring issue and directing us to somewhere in the next town who could help. Such an interesting house. Beautiful and large bedroom. The garden was an amazing space with breathtaking views. Loved the pool. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Great breakfast.

The gite was within the ground of a hotel, it therefore benefited from lots of amenities, there was a heated swimming pool, table tennis, skittles, badminton, and lots of other games. There were a range of seating around the well tended gardens, and an under cover table for relaxing at night or when it started to lightly rain.

The house is on a quiet road near an attractive village, very convenient for exploring the Thierache. It had good facilities for us as a couple and the bedroom is spacious with a comfortable bed. Marie-Therese is a very welcoming and helpful host.
