This hotel is out of town, half way up a mountain and the views are spectacular. The dinner was excellent and they were able and happy to offer us vegetarian options (we eat fish when given it). The staff were super helpful and made us feel welcome on arrival, een though we were a bit early. It is a bit more proicey that some otehr hotels, but definitely worth the money. The library is great with interesting books. There is an outdoor nature pool and a Petanque course. Nothing to comaplin about. Excellent. We arrived by bike on the GTMC. Even thoug the place feels absolutely safe and secure, they offered facilites for us to keep the bikes locked indoors. They even offered us bike washing facilities.

A friendly welcome, although l was too early to check in. Refreshments and a short wait and I was in. The room was basic, no frills, but as described and adequate for a single night. Dinner and breakfast, extra charge, could be served outside, your choice, but pleasant for August.

Orry and Gaïa are fantastic hosts, very welcoming and friendly. The refuge is lovely and super clean. Walking distance from Gentiâne in case you plan a hike with a donkey. The food is amazing, made with love from local products. We highly recommend the Refuge Des Castagnols!

The backdrop to this property was surreal! Absolutely EPIC views from any/all angles. The photos just don't do it justice! Both Benoit and Edith were really hospitable and very welcoming to me and my family even sharing with us some French delicacies and happy to help where they could
