Breakfast is help-yourself: cereals, yoghourts, juices, fresh fruit and wrapped breads and madeleines. Only on Sunday were there fresh breads and croissants. Good coffee. You can use the big common area to watch TV or to cook up something in the microwave. I loved the quiet but some might find it too quiet! The room was fine with everything I needed, including a fridge. Wifi was good. Owner will go out of her way to help.

A very enjoyable night at this historic place situated in a very quiet area of France definitely worth a visit though. Our host made sure we could book a nice restaurant for the night and it was nice exchanging with her about the local area.

What a beautiful, peaceful place! We were warmly welcomed, Natalie was friendly and helpful. Our dog was also made welcome. The room was a good size with a comfortable bed and a large bathroom. Breakfast consisted of croissant, pain au chocolat, bread, confitures, choice of fruit juice and hot drinks. Our hostess was very thoughtful and kind. She provided cutlery and china for our picnic tea. Also made us a list of local restaurants. The horses in the nearby field are very nice to observe. You are in a natural, peaceful, friendly setting, and we felt at home. To be recommended! :

Lovely quiet village location. Loads of atmosphere and history. Very interesting. Would recommend to anyone wanting to see "real France". Host was very helpful. Breakfast very nice. Room was large (but don't expect an Ibis style room!)

We stayed overnight walking the Chemin de Compostelle. Staying at Les Chaumes Violettes was the perfect place. The facilities in the house are outstanding, spacious, ultra clean & well thought out. The location is wonderfully tranquil & quiet, overlooking farmland & countryside - yet it is only 1.5km outside Cluis. Dinner & breakfast are available at extra cost, we had both: definately well worth having; good value. Dinner was fantastic, a beautifully cooked 3 course meal eaten with the family (a lovely experience), everything sourced either from their own garden or very close by. Various friendly animals to befriend of all sorts in & around the garden! But more than anything, the genuine, friendly, hospitable owners made our stay truly memorable. Thank you!
