The building itself had recently undergone a major renovation, so everything was new. A beautiful victorian manor, the renovations have maintained the charm of the place while providing modern amenities. Very well done. The staff were great - extremely polite and helpful, we lost our luggage en-route and the staff helped us to recover it. I think they went the extra mile. Breakfast (full English) was cooked to order and very tasty - proper bacon and sausage, also very good selection of bread, spreads etc. The dining room and bar areas very well designed, retaining the We also went for a walk around the grounds, over a bridge and down the river, about 1 hours walk - very nice, everything well maintained. Also the location was excellent - rural but only 25 mins drive to York centre.

Newley furbished room - beautiful on suite bathroom - evening meal, first class menu, cooked and presented to perfection. Amazing selection of dishes both in the evening and at breakfast which matched the high standards all round - especially the buffet choices. Absolutely excellent little cottage. We arrived in the dark, so was nice surprise to look out of the window the next day to such a lovely view. Excellent facilities and spotlessly clean. Just a little bit out from the city centre but ok if you have a car. Lovely peaceful setting with hot tub included.

    Fabulous. Beautiful location. The hotel is amazing, rooms 10/10. Absolutely everything you needed. Overlooking the garden with lovely sofa and lots of space. Best room ever stayed in. Elements restaurant had a wonderful ambience and food superb.
