the Inn was beautiful and atmospheric, especially 17th Century bar area. Bistro was charming and meals very good. our room was in the cottage opposite the Inn and was lovely and a good size. fresh milk was delivered to our door early every morning. we stayed at the Castle Inn ten years ago and returned because we loved it so much. it didn’t disappoint this time

We stayed New Years Eve. We had booked a room and advised we were vegan. We had the most fantastic meal, so many courses, such great flavours. The chef asked what sort of food we liked in advance and the meal was superb. We will be back. The staff team were attentive and very nice. We felt well looked after.

Iain and Jack were the absolute stars of One Drake Road, and everything was extraordinary, so that’s saying a lot. They are jovial and warm, welcoming and familiar and they gave us the best advice for every facet of our stay. They are the Devon and Cornwall tour guides that we didn’t expect, but certainly needed and we are SO grateful. Every time we would leave or arrive, the boys would pop their heads out of the front door to make sure we were sorted. This is the kind of service you could only expect from the best 5 star hotels. The property was also INCREDIBLE. We didn’t want to leave. It was clean and comfortable and homely, the boys have done an exceptional job on the design. It feels like home, but better decorated. The toiletries were out of this world. I didn’t need to wash my hair, but I did, because smelling like geranium felt like an opportunity I shouldn’t miss out on. We cannot wait to come back. Chloé, George and Molly.

    It is a lovely location and i imagine in the middle of summer it would be exceptional. we have stayed before and would stay again. Our hosts were on hand and friendly but not intrusive.
