Karen and Steve are a prime example of hospitality and just as great as the apartment itself. Starting at the entrance door, where a wooden highland cow awaits you, holding a scottish flag and a flag representing the guests (in our case austrian), you could already feel that the hosts are making an effort of welcoming you. The interior is a loving mix of rustic cottage charm, exotic decor from around the world and adorable pictures (like e.g. Winnie the Pooh drawings). Everything is kept flawlessly clean and a sideboard offers loads of teas, coffee, cookies, porridge and sweets and magically refills itself every day, depending on whatever you took. Steve showed us around when we arrived, being very welcoming and funny and we felt like home right away. He even introduced us to their house donkeys Raymond&Pumpkin and their goat Billy which was a highlight of our whole Scotland trip. Karen unfortunately broke her ankle and was only able to greet and talk to us through the window next door, but her pure joy at having guests was nonetheless noticeable and heartwarming. Both of them were incredibly helpful and magically there when we needed it, while still giving us all the space we wanted to have enough privacy. Spending a few days in this oasis felt like a warm hug. We absolutely recommend this place and will definitely come back here the next time we are in Scotland again.

First the location was quiet because it is in the backyard of a house in a quiet dead end road. The cabins are clean and very neatly furnished and decorated. We really fell in love with all the little figures, books and so on. There ist enough space for two. We can really recommend staying here.

Good quality continental breakfast from 5am was a useful service when flight times are awkward. Cooked food was good too. Not the cheapest but saves a taxi fare to and from town so cost can be justified.

    Good location not far from the city centre, probably too far to walk with kids, but a quick drive. I was a bit worried about noise as we were beside the hospital, but it was very peaceful. There was a nice big garage where I left my bike, and the garden was fun for my daughter to play in. The house was spotless, and had everything you would need including plenty of towels, shower gel and a much appreciated welcome basket full of goodies. Eggs, bacon and milk in the fridge. Ideal!

    Fantastic guesthouse. The rooms were spotless and the bathroom was big with a shower and separate bath, both super clean and nice. When we booked we were told there was no breakfast during our stay as it’s off season but they managed to make us breakfast anyway which was delicious. The hosts Joy and Elci were very friendly and helpful with plenty of recommendations. The location is ideal - just walking distance from town. The bed was very comfy and I slept so well. Thanks for a lovely stay!
