Ortansia is far more than just a place to stay — it’s a home, one that embraces you with warmth and love from the moment you walk in. After a long day of travel, we were welcomed by the lovely mother-in-law of the landlady, and instantly felt like we were being received by family. It's clear that immense care and thought went into crafting this space. The house is beautifully decorated with handmade touches — from a striking wooden stump transformed into a side table to a unique lamp crafted from wood in the bedroom. Every detail speaks of intention and love, a far cry from the impersonal furnishings of typical accommodations. Though the mother-in-law did not speak English, the landlady kindly set up a video call to guide us through the house and explain everything clearly. Their thoughtfulness didn’t end there — as we were settling in, we discovered a delightful surprise in the kitchen: a selection of homemade treats, including melt-in-your-mouth cookies and large raisins soaked in a rich, syrupy liqueur. When we expressed our gratitude, they told us we’d be receiving a goody bag with these delicious cookies to take home — a gesture that touched us deeply. One evening, after returning from a breathtaking hike, we were surprised by a gentle knock at the kitchen window. There stood the mother-in-law, holding a plate of warm, homemade Greek donuts — freshly made and full of love. The owners also went out of their way to help with our hiking plans. They warned us about the weather conditions, which could have made our route dangerous, and even arranged a reliable cab driver to bring us back from the end of our one-way hike. The level of care and genuine hospitality we experienced at Ortansia is truly rare — even in a world full of beautiful places, few feel quite like this. We are so grateful to have stayed here and cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you for creating such a magical, welcoming space for others to enjoy.

We were well looked after. Will, our host was very helpful giving us relevant local knowledge in a friendly manner. Eating a home cooked, room delivered breakfast on our balcony, overlooking the stunning Lousios Gorge and mountain range, was a highlight!

Cozy appartment with everything you need. We arrived after a 7 hour hike in the rain. The heater was on, there were fresh cookies and eggs, tea and coffee, enough towels, a lovely couch to sit on and enough electricity pluggs to charge phones.

Beautiful building, super location. Delicious breakfast. Friendly host, who can tell you a lot of the environment with the Lousios George and the spectacular located Podromos monastery.. Great owners!! Very friendly mother and daughter, who run the b&b and a taverna downstairs. We were hiking the menalon trail and stayed for 1 night with dinner at their place, very good, clean and modern room and tasty local food. The wonderful lady gave us coffee for free in the morning as well! Thank you!

    Excellent location, walking distance from the center. The room very clean and quiet with nice decoration. Part of the breakfast included bio products that were produced by the owner. The staff very polite, made our stay comfortable. The owner also provided us information about the attractions of the area.

    Apt was very clean, well equipped and spacious. Has a nice verandah with mountain views, and a big terrace with lots of plants next to the apt. Very quiet and peaceful location. Parking available on the street.
