When you arrive at a place and you get a lovely friendly welcome with a big smile you know you are going to have a great stay. What a great place run by the nicest people imaginable. The food and drink is beyond amazing and really fantastic value. Our only regret is that we only stayed one night, this is so much more than an overnight stop before getting the ferry to Halki. There is a lovely beach in a cove with a bar only a few minutes walk away where we had a great swim and a drink and there are free sun loungers too. We will definitely go back to Makedonia in the future and will stay more than one night the next time! Room was great with ice cold air con, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. One of the best places run by the best people :-)

Liros was an incredible stay. I booked this place unsure as Liros Pension had great reviews online but none on booking.com yet. Lucky to say though I have had an incredible experience. The hosts here, Ismini, Markella and Georgina are the loveliest people. I was given breakfasts and offered incredible traditional greek dinners each night, enough for a feast. I met a new friend here hitch hiking and he also joined the dinners a couple nights also. The place is super clean, calm, serene, gorgeous, and great for a piece of mind and escape from the city and inner exploration. Can fully recommend with a car as then you can go the embonas and do the hike up to temple of zeus, without a car you still got some good hikes around Kritinia castle and the option to hitch hike or even walk up to the ancient kamiros and back. There is also the Bluetopia Experience in Kamiros Skala next door which I heard great reviews about, but didn't do due to weather conditions on the day. The hosts were also really helpful in finding out the bus routes and offering alternatives to the airport and back to Rhodes, so don't worry too much if only via bus. Overall an incredible stay. Liros was a wonderful palce of refuge for me and I hope to return one day if back in Rhodes!

If you want to experience an authentic, non-touristic Rhodes, choose Mann House. The interior and the atmosphere both inside and in the courtyard are like an ethnographic museum. The hosts are very hospitable and had lunch waiting for us in the fridge! The town of Embon is also wonderful.

Everything is superb... That is the place where one can enjoy 100% local environment and experience incredable hospitality. Beatiful house, tradicionally decorated yet with some luxury elements, super clean and comfy. Spacy terrasse and all equipped kitchen.. Unbelievable welcome package ☺️ The house is located just a couple of.mintes walk from the centre of cosy maintain village, with great local taverna and supermarke nearby. (the appartment was very large, well equipped, and is suiting for a family (we were a couple and it felt very spacious. a lovely grandma welcomed us, gave us a bowl of fresh peaces and grapes! the decoration is traditional and cozy, and the village itself is lovely and beautiful to wander around in.

    We stayed here for one night before taking the ferry to Chalki. The room was perfect for what we needed and good value for money. The port is just a minute away which was ideal. The hosts were helpful and responsive, and understanding we arrived very late with a delayed flight.

    Ideal place to stay before catching the boat to Halki. Lovely family running it - had a great meal when we arrived in the evening. The air conditioning was wonderful, as it was very hot. We actually had two rooms, as there was a single bed in the living/kitchen area, and as we were two friends, rather than a couple, it was perfect for us. There was a sea-view balcony off the main bedroom which was lovely to step out to in the morning. The beds were super comfy.

    I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and it was an exceptional experience. The location is superb, providing easy access to all the key attractions in the area.
