Robin and Rino had really thought about the needs of his guests. My room had a very comfortable bed, there was a fridge in common area, a hairdryer and two comfy seats and a small table. Breakfast was substantial with a savoury option plus eggs, toast and tea and coffee. Robin also offered tourist bookings and the tickets he got for us at the theatre were excellent - front row. The accommodation was well placed for a 10 minute walk to a variety of restaurants and there were tuk tuks readily available for longer journeys.

I enjoyed my 3 nights stay at the hostel. The atmosfere, the location, the dorm and facilities are very good. But most of all, Danish and his staffmembers made my stay great! Their hospitality and friendliness are awesome. They make sure you feel comfortable, lots of chance to meet and miggle with other travellers. Danish is more then willing to andere all your questions and help you with planning activities of needed. But most of all: there is a lot of fun and laughs in the hostel. It’s a great place to enjoy your stay in Allepey

The best homestay, if you are coming to Alleppey and want to enjoy tasty Kerala food, budget friendly, experience true hospitality, with the opportunity to make wonderful friends and in a great location just 2 minutes walk from the beach then Venitia Homestay is the right choice. There is the option of Fan or AC, we chose fan. The rooms are spacious, comfortable bed, and drinking water/glasses provided. The shower pressure is good, towels are provided and the windows in bedroom open fully to allow good air circulation if needed. The first visit, (we stayed here 3 times in total), we extended our trip and stayed for 8 nights and the bed linen/towels were changed without even asking. There is space to relax here, on the balcony, interacting with the family or even up to the rooftop to admire the stars at night. The family are so lovely, their hospitality is 5* and it feels like a home away from home. Jeeja's cooking is so good, we ate nearly all our meals here, some at the family dining area downstairs and some upstairs near our room, vegetarian/meat/fish/spicy/not spicy she is very accommodating and for myself just a little sugar in the best masala chai in Kerala 😊 Jeeja the Masala Chai Queen ☺️ If they could help us in any way they did so, they went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, to look after us and arrange trips/recommend places to visit. We even did some exploring with Aakash, went to the cinema together, and enjoyed many conversations with all the family. Staying with this kind, caring, friendly and fun family has been a true highlight of my visit to Kerala, and I look forward to visiting them again next time I return to Kerala. I recommend sunrise kayaking, the budget friendly Vega government boat trip, KSRTC Gavi trip, the beach near by, and generally just exploring the area.

After staying at Kalappura homestay and talking to the owner Jose, I booked his houseboat trip too. His offer was a good deal for a solo traveler. The boat trip was very nice. The captain and the cook were friendly and helpful. I felt like a king on the boat. What I liked the most was that Jose made sure I also saw the local side of Alleppey. We took local buses (I wouldn't do that myself) to a local market to buy food for the boat trip.

This is a MUST in Kerala. With my husband and a couple of friends, we took a traditional ultra deluxe cruise and spent the night on the boat. It was an unforgettable experience. The landscape is breathtaking, and it's beautiful to see how the scenery changes as you navigate through the wide or narrow canals of the backwaters. We spent one night, but I would have loved to stay another day. In the evening, the boat docks in a place where only we were, creating a peaceful and excellent relaxing atmosphere. The boat was impeccable and comfortable, truly flawless. The food was exquisite, offering a wide variety for those who wanted to try the delights of Kerala cuisine or those who preferred something more international. The staff was very friendly and had excellent communication. Unforgettable!

The family was super friendly and super welcoming always. It was a nice experience to live inside a Kerala family home. Everything was super clean. I specially enjoyed the food! They serve by request delicious homemade traditional food. We had the opportunity to try different stuff witch was made with lots of care and delicious ingredients. The two guys who helped us out when we were there were amazing and went above and beyond for us. They helped us with getting data for our phones, 1 am check-ins, recommendations for restaurants, bike rental, tours etc. Really felt comfortable from the start. The rooms are as expected and there is water, tea, a kettle etc in the common areas for you to use whenever you need. There is also a fridge which was useful. The location is good - between the beach front and the town. directly opposite a big supermarket which was useful. Great price!!!

    The location is good no doubt. But remember this is a low budget property. So the lawns and exteriors are ordinary at best. No particular beautification or lawning or decor exists. It maybe a good fit for cheap long stays. But definitely a No-No for short visits and families who are used to a bit of luxury.
