Staying at Sottoassisi - Guest House was an exceptional experience. The location is ideal — right in the historic center of Assisi, close to major landmarks like the Basilica of Saint Francis, yet quiet and peaceful for a restful stay. The guest house is full of charm, with beautifully preserved details and modern amenities. My room was spotlessly clean, cozy, and tastefully furnished. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was modern and well-equipped. I used Sottoassisi as a base to explore a wide range of Umbrian towns and cities, and it worked perfectly for that purpose. From here, I visited Perugia, Orvieto, Gubbio, Foligno, Città di Castello, Spello, Spoleto, and Trevi — all within a reasonable driving distance or accessible by train. Each day ended with a peaceful return to Assisi, making it the perfect anchor for my Umbrian adventure. The hosts were warm, friendly, and genuinely dedicated to making guests feel at home. They provided excellent recommendations and were always available for any questions or needs. If you're planning to explore Umbria, I can't recommend Sottoassisi - Guest House enough. It combines comfort, location, and hospitality in a truly unforgettable way.

A wonderful location for combining rural and cultural tourism. Excellent level of hygiene and service. They have a farmyard with well-kept animals, the children had fun in the yard. The views from the place are breathtaking. A swimming pool is currently being built, which will be available to guests during the summer season. This place exceeded our expectations! The room and the breakfast were perfect! It is located in a peaceful area, just a 5-minute drive from the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi.     The hotel is in a solid 1950s building, so no flimsy walls and noise from fellow guests. I had booked a room with separate private bathroom, but was actually given an en-suite room, which was a nice surprise. No air conditioning but a very effective fan, on a very hot night. Fridge in the room. The location, right opposite the railway station, the bus to Perugia airport and the bus to Assisi's historic centre, is ideal, and probably quieter and better value than hotels in the centre. Welcoming staff.

    Great location close to the bus station and only a short walk from the main attraction, Basilica di San Francesco d'Assisi. Really a home made breakfast by the owner! Owner Anna is local, so she can tell you about Assisi and can give valuable tips where to go and what to do. Spotless and comfortable room and bathroom!
