We went to Sicily for 8 days over Christmas and this was by far the highlight. Floresta is a small village located at 1300m in the Nebrodi mountains, and our room had a very nice view of it. The owner also owns a small shop and restaurant downstairs and we had dinner there too. The food was locally produced, tasted amazing and felt so homemade. The owner was also such a friendly gentleman. The room itself was nice too, very clean and featured a large bathroom.

Having the freedom to make tea or coffee downstairs and take our time over breakfast yet still having a lovely chat with Pippo's wife (in Italian). Wonderful tips on where to go and what to see especially with opportunities to explore the natural environment under Pippo's expert guidance. The coffee on offer was excellent! Everything very sensitively done as regards health and environment.

Palazzo Restifa is particularly well-updated and beautifully restored grand home with a terrazza-with-a-view. Its manager is a most pleasant, attentive and helpful woman-of-the-house, which enhanced our stay. Montalbano Elicona is picturesque... "una dei piu belli borghi". Located right on the main piazza, restaurants and other needs are right at hand. It is obviously a cherished and historic town for those able to be gainfully employed there.

One of the best accommodations I've ever booked! Not only was the host, Filippo, incredibly helpful and went way out of his way to ensure we had a great stay in Montalbano, but the apartment is also gorgeous, right in the oldest part of town. Spacious, well equipped with all comforts and a very nice bathroom. The town itself is beyond beautiful; a tranquil spot in the mountains, perfect to spend a couple nights in to get away from the touristier parts of Sicily. Would give this 11/10 if I could. Highly recommended!
