- the host Cristiana is super nice, helpful and made my stay special - the room and overall building is renovated, equipped, furnished and decorated with love and good taste - lovely breakfast at what time you want and always with fresh cake and you can help yourself with scrambled eggs (this is quite special for a B&B) - parking spot in front of the house

The food was amazing, fantastic range of foods to choose from.The staff were attentive and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was excellent value. In the bar all the items were priced which avoided any misunderstandings. The beds were large and comfortable.

Very close to the station, clean, comfortable, warm rooms, complimentary water, coffee, drinks, very polite personnel, great breakfast. It is very close to the center. And close to città alta. Great WiFi speed. I would recommend it very much!

we stayed at the via san tomaso apartment. it was huge and spacious, comfortable, and was equipped with everything you need to cook. major plus points for it being sooooo clean, and the view in the morning was so quaint and lovely. alberto and laura were incredibly helpful and friendly as well. we loved our stay and we kept referring to this place as our favourite apartment of our trip!

Staying at Porta Antica was probably the most comfortable and pleasant accommodation I experienced in Bergamo. As a relatively new property, everything feels fresh and spotlessly clean. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive — they even asked about my condition right after check-in, which was a thoughtful touch. The location is ideal. Just a 2-minute walk from the funicular stop in the upper town (Città Alta), it’s surrounded by charming local shops and a mini supermarket, making the area feel both lively and safe. All the main sights are within walking distance, so it’s easy to pop back into the room for a break during the day. During my stay, I enjoyed early morning runs through the old town — the views along the city walls are stunning, and grabbing a morning coffee at the famous La Marianna café made for the perfect start to the day. The room was equipped with Illy coffee, a nice touch that made me feel like I was truly in Italy. The hairdryer was surprisingly powerful, which was a big plus for me. The staff responded to messages quickly and always with a warm, helpful attitude. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Bergamo, I absolutely recommend Porta Antica. It was a flawless experience from start to finish!

    Staying at this place felt like stepping back in time or staying in a living museum. The building, which dates back over 300 years, is filled with antique furniture and decorations from bygone eras, creating a truly unique atmosphere. The accommodation was very clean, and all necessary amenities for a comfortable stay were provided. The host was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a highlight, featuring a delicious, fresh homemade pie.

    Cristiana, the owner, is a very friendly and generous person! On arrival, she offered us spaghetti jsut because the kids were tired and hungry! Very beautiful and spacious rooms in a magnificent late 17th-century villa which has been renovated without losing its authentic character. The location is perfect. Everything was awesome, and we will surely come back!
