My wife and I had a wonderful Japanese ryokan experience at Syusuien. The service provided by the ryokan was top-notch, and we enjoyed genuine and unique traditional Japanese hospitality. We stayed for two nights, with breakfast and dinner included. Every dining experience was unique, featuring fine dining-quality dishes made with local Kagoshima seasonal ingredients. The room we stayed in offered beautiful ocean views, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing and tranquil moment at Ibusuki.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. There was a typhoon coming as I checked into the hotel. The restaurant was only available for pre-booked guests and the staff supplied me with alternative food until the restaurant could accommodate me the following night for dinner and breakfast the next day. Without them I would have been sick with hunger. Thank you The restaurant food was amazing Japanese food which I would out have had anywhere else in Japan.

Very well preserved Showa era ryokan with very kind and pleasant staff. We could also borrow bikes to easiliy go around Ibusuki. There's even a private onsen!

Great location on foot from sand bath, onsen, restaurants, konbini. Nice and responsive host: clear instructions, restaurant recommendations and very kind. We were by car, there was parking reserved for one car. Recommend this place if you visit Ibusuki!

A wonderful, big, very comfortable and clean Japanese house, all for yourself. Modern and traditional at the same time. Newly renovated to a very high standard with so many wonderful details in the beautiful decoration of the interiour. Set in a nice garden. We were sorry that we only stayed for one night. However, you have to be aware that it is located a bit away from the next village, you need a car to get there and be prepared to drive longer forest roads, depending from where you come from. But it was so much worth it Thank you again very much!

The property was exceptionally beautiful and clean! Kitchen was really well equipped and they use really branded appliances and provisions, It was also really calming to be able to hear the sound of the waves from the beach!

The hotel is located in a beautiful natural setting, on the seafront and with spectacular views. The hotel staff treated us very kindly and helped us with everything we needed. They even picked us up and took us to the station when we left. They made us feel at home! Highly recommended
