My wife and I had a wonderful Japanese ryokan experience at Syusuien. The service provided by the ryokan was top-notch, and we enjoyed genuine and unique traditional Japanese hospitality. Great location on foot from sand bath, onsen, restaurants, konbini. Nice and responsive host: clear instructions, restaurant recommendations and very kind. We were by car, there was parking reserved for one car. Recommend this place if you visit Ibusuki!

Cozy guesthouse in a rejuvenated old Japanese house. The location is perfect with only a few minutes of walk from Makurazaki station where you would start a full day of railway journey. The staff is polite and helpful, recommended to me a good dining spot. Unfortunately I was the only guest at that night and didn’t get to talk to others, which I do enjoy every time I stay in a guesthouse.
