The place was amazing! Free Sake till 21:30 and free laundry and dryer machine. We also had a projecter and could watch a movie. One of the best accomodations i have been so far for a amazing price!

We had a wonderful stay at Ryokan Asunaro The beautiful surroundings and authentic Japanese experience will stay with us forever. The welcoming feeling at all times, the beautifully appointed rooms with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The dining experience both at the Kaiseki dinner and the Japanese breakfast each morning was incredible. We have never experienced anything like it before.

1. It's quite near Takayama Nohi Bus Center - about a 10 minute walk. 2. The property is very new, so everything is clean and in working condition. 3. There's a kitchen with fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle, where you can eat or prepare your food. 4. It's in a nice quiet neighborhood. 5. The owners, Peng and Oscar, went out of their way to make me feel welcome. They were very friendly and genuinely helpful, when I had some special requests. I couldn't have asked for nicer property owners!

Beautiful house and equally beautiful and quiet neighborhood, but then very close to the old town of Takayama. What more to ask. The facilities was perfect. Had a wonderful time cooking up a storm with our butcher bought hida beef. Although we didn't use the outdoor bath due to the cold, it was a nice touch. Even though the shower area was a little chilly, they provided portable heater you can wheel around as needed. And the Balmuda kitchen equipments....

The place was very clean and located near convenient spots in Takayama, and the quality exceeded the price we paid for. Free parking was available (although a short walk away). The host was also very friendly :)

    Very good insonorisation - we didn't hear anything from other guests. Nice onsen. Friendly staff. Good location but Takayama is small so everything is in walking distance. Very clean.

    Our entire stay at Ryokan Asunaro was magical. The hotel is beautiful and very traditional, the dinner experience is not to be missed, the location is ideal with a many restaurants around and a beautiful town to explore right at its doorsteps. The rooms are very comfortable and we found the laundry room very useful. The staff is curious and very responsive. We were treated with kindness and felt at home during our stay. The onsen is very clean and cozy. We can't wait to go back.
