We loved our stay at wildhideaway, the food was really nice and served under the stars. We also went on the full day safari, this was perfectly arranged with breakfast and lunch. We saw a lot of animals and the host shared details about the animals. We really recommend the accommodation and safari, you will get the most friendly and warm care from Anta, he will make sure you will have a wonderful time!

The staff were an exceptionally nice family. Helped with everything starting with a welcome drink and ending by hailing our bus down to the next town. They also arranged our safari for the cheapest price we had come by, with an excellent guide.

Great location. Nicely tucked away from the road amongst the forest. Lots of birds including jungle fowl to watch from the patio. Walk in from the road via a pathway. They met us to help carry our bags. Dinner was traditional Sri Lankan curry - vegetarian or chicken. Followed by yoghurt and fruit for dessert. Plenty of food, not spicy and was yummy. Other options for dinner were fried rice or vegetable noodles. Breakfast was packed for us for the following day safari. 2 egg sandwiches, a banana, yoghurt and water. Sufficient for the half day. The best part is the very close lake and dirt road. We went for a walk with binoculars and saw deer, langurs, crocodile, hornbills and lots of other birds and lizards too. A much better, slower paced experience and one not to miss. We booked a half day tour with the host. In hindsight we would have booked a different tour. Pillows weren't overly comfortable but was OK for 1 night.

Property was amazing we booked the deluxe double, the standard was exceptional. Extra large bed was very comfortable. Everything has been designed with quality in mind. Lots of attention to detail. Staff very helpful & friendly. We had Sri Lankan buffet for dinner when we arrived, which was delicious. The staff prepared us a packed breakfast to take on our Safari.

We had an unforgettable stay at this charming guesthouse in Sri Lanka - the hospitality was beyond exceptional, and every detail felt so thoughtfully curated. The room was very clean, cozy and with AC. The workers are very warm and helpful. They prepare home-made food which is amazing. Also we arranged with them a safari which we had to cancel because of sickness and they helped us in everything without any charge.

Owner gave us a nice birdwatching tour in the evening, they were always ready to bring us whatever we needed and when we came back they had fresh watermelon juice ready for us to enjoy. Besides that, the wife of the owner is an extremely good cook. To top things off, we even got the brand new room they had just finished. It also a great base of operations for day trips in to the fabulous Wilpattu park.

    Perfect place for exploring Wilpattu Nature parc. Very clean rooms, delicious food and excellent staff. Anthony was a perfect guide and driver at the safari and we enjoyed his company and knowledge. We surely recommend wilpattu wildhideaway

    Great location, located close to the entrance of the park. The suite has a plunge pool in the shade, very refreshing! Beautiful lake for birding located right behind their property. The guys are super friendly and also advised on type of safari. The safari itself was out of this world, while many cars did not see much that day we saw 3 leopards, elephant, bear, and much more.

    Very friendly staff and excellent diner (3 courses). Location close to the park and binoculars are offered for the safari. We enjoyed our safari. It is a beautiful park and we saw many birds, deer, one elephant and one leopard for 10 seconds in the bush. Based on the good reviews we had hoped to see a bit more of a leopard, but we were happy because the day before no elephants or leopards had been seen. So you need to be a bit lucky.

    A good location close to park entrance. Anton was a charming, knowledgeable host, with excellent english. A keen wildlife photographer. Breakfast and evening meals were very good, and safari breakfast and lunch plentiful and tasty. The safari, organised by Anton, was excellent, especially birdlife and leopard sighting. Binoculars and wildlife books were available to use. The whole stay was very enjoyable.

    We absolutely loved our time at Anton's. He could not have been more helpful, answering all our questions before we arrived. The rooms were simple and clean. The food was so delicious - especially the dinners served in the cute dining room with lamps. The hotel is only a few kms from the national park entrance. Anton arranged our safari with Harsha, which was great, and even drove us to our next location. A perfect stay.

    The loveliest host with thoughtful touches throughout our stay. Also helped us out with getting some things we needed in town, and gave us a lift to the bus station. Clean room, gorgeous dinner with a special / romantic set-up. Perfect location, short drive to the national park. Highly recommend.

    The perfect location to stay if you are in for a Safari in Wilpattu NP. Hi Almost next to the entrance. We recommend to book a day tour in the park with the owner of the lodge. Anta is a super host and a super tour guide and can tell a lot about the wildlife and the park. The lunch and breakfast in the jeep were excellent. On your return you will be treated to a delicious 3-course meal in a romantic setting in the garden. Always different and very tasty. Just a big THANK YOU!
