I truly recommend House of Freedom. It is a perfect place if you want to experience the local culture and see how the locals live. I've spent 24 hours with Isuru. We had a trip around Bundala, a motor night safari and morning birds watching. Additionally lunch in his family house and evening barbecue. The house and room are humble, but everything is clean and the hospitality is amazing. The sourounding is breathtaking. No tourists around. It was an unfargetable experience!

The location was just perfect. We felt like being in the middle of nature. Cows entering the property to bring fresh milk in the morning. Endless of different all around the property. But the room was very clean and pretty much sealed towards critters. The owner did everything possible to make it a wonderful stay. Very good breakfast!

We stayed here in February, the resort is very new, they opened in December. The tents are very comfortable with air conditioning, a good bed, and other facilities. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful resort Everything was excellent, the stuff were kind and helpful, the room was big with a lake view , the food was great And of course the fact that there were so many animals and birds just walking around , Great experience we also gave food to the elephants We enjoyed it so much !

The host was extremely nice and helpful. The room is big, with AC and a nice private bathroom with all necessary. The owner has been extremely helpful, he rented us scooters for a fair price and gave us nice insights of the area :) He also came with us to the bus station to help us take the correct bus! Our stay was 1 of the best in Sri Lanka. We enjoyed the true family atmosphere. Our hosts took care of us in every aspect (they organized transport to and from the venue, safari trip, delicious local meals,...). When we came from the safari, they brought us to another crocodile watching spot. It was amazing. The driver is really nice person, best driver, we met in Sri Lanka. The car was comfortable with A/C. The apartment had a nice balcony with a beautiful view to the Bundala park. It was modestly equipped, but very clean and cosy. Thanks to our hosts we got oportunity to attend a local budhist festival.

Very quiet and cozy place with a beautiful garden full of birds and monkeys. The rooms are clean, spacious, have everything you need - air conditioning, fan, mosquito net. There is not warm water, but during the day the sun heats it up in the tank and it is getting even hot, very nice. There is a large balcony with tables and a beautiful view, it is very pleasant to sit there and watch the surroundings and sunsets. There is a bird watching tower next to the house, from where you can see the national park. We were spending hours there with our spyglass. Very hospitable hotel owner, he helped us with everything and organized a wonderful safari to Bundala national park. Breakfasts and dinners are delicious and plentiful and for a very good price. Not far from the hotel there are lakes with a lot of water birds. The place is a birdwatching paradise. We had the great pleasure of spending 4 days here enjoying and relaxing.

If you want to reach the ocean, this place is the best to choose. Very good vibes, clean room, super nice host! They even made lunch for us, which was the best food we had in sri lanka so far!

We had a fantastic stay. We arrived and were warmly welcomed. Our room was ready and it looked great. We had a room with sea view. We were immediately offered a beer on arrival and in the evening the host prepared fresh fish, shrimps, chips and rice for us. One of the best dishes we've had in Sri Lanka. The accommodation is located directly at sea, so you have a lot of peace here. The host is very helpful and will make your stay comfortable.
