I've stayed in at least 100 different locations in Sri Lanka over the years, but Agro Village wins my award for the best rooms. Designed and built by the owner, the rooms are light and airy, with all the plugs in the right places, an amazingly comfortable bed, no mosquitoes, a very good bathroom - with a mop! - and an outside area in the trees. The food is just right too. And he's planning a swimming pool! The price is a lot lower than other places in Kalpitya, if we needed any other reason to come back.

An incredibly stylish and beautiful hotel. I was looking for a calm place and this was a perfect match. However, you can socialize if you want. Jessie, the manager, is doing his job with a strong sense of responsibility, Ansalees and other employees are highly professional and kind. Hotel boat can take you to the beach. The place is very popular for kitesurfers and the beach was very windy during my stay, but you can relax perfectly at the hotel pool. The atmosphere there is idyllic. Food was really tasty.

Villa setha wadi was an amazing place. The view on the lagoon and the pool are the best. The room is clean, the beds are good and it has a really great shower. The chef prepared an incredible dinner for us, and the breakfast is lovely too. This place has its own kite centre where you can rent equipment. Kite instructor Matt teaches you how to kitesurf in the safest way possible on the lagoon and in the waves. Prices are very reasonable, equipment is brand new, we would definately recommend kiting with Matt.

Dili and Roshan and their family where treating us as their family members. We felt immediately at home at their place. We enjoyed fantastic meals prepared in their own little restaurant. Each meal was prepared with passion! The last evening we enjoyed at a festival together what was a very special moment for us to dive into Sri lankian culture. We recommend them with great pleasure and we wish them all the best for their future plans.

The name of this hostel truly reflects the place—it is a paradise. It’s a pity this location isn’t more frequented because it’s a fantastic spot, surrounded by coconut palms and charming huts. The owner, Malik, is an excellent host who speaks perfect English and goes out of his way to make guests feel comfortable. Since there were only four of us staying, he generously offered each of us a private room for the same price as a dormitory bed. The beds are equipped with mosquito nets, and they also provide towels, which adds to the comfort of the stay. Breakfast is included, and they offer a restaurant service for lunch and dinner. Additionally, they can arrange various activities in the area. While recent storms have damaged some facilities and the access road—possibly explaining the lower number of visitors—the place remains well-maintained, clean, and conveniently close to both the beach and Kalpitiya Dutch Fort. Day and night, this place offers the perfect tranquility to disconnect from the world and relax. The restaurant terrace has board games, books, and even a lovely cat to keep you company. I highly recommend this hostel—it’s affordable, well-managed, and offers excellent service.

    The design and layout of the resort is exceptional, its really is quite beautiful. The location is pretty cool, the beds were really comfortable, the breakfast was excellent. Our bungalow was gorgeous. Dealing with the resort through Booking.com was great, they were highly receptive and quick to respond to any query, helped us out with a driver (who was excellent).

    The hostel is well equipped. There is drinking water provided and they have bicycles too. The beds come with (much appreciated) mosquito netting. The owners went out of their way to help me. The beds are very comfy. The place is very clean and well set-up. It is also really the only budget option in the area.

    we stayed here for 4 nights - we felt very comfortable - our room was very clean and comfortable - the owner was very friendly, sympathetic and helpful - the food was typical of the country and very good - we can only recommend the facility - the location is very untouristic which we liked very much - full recommendation from us - we would love to come back :))

    I was travelling alone on a budget trip, and was looking for a place with basic amenities and a place to relax and enjoy myself. The breakfast was good, and the owner and his family were quite accommodating.

    Very quiet location on the Lagoon, with tropical grounds and lovely pool. Rooms were beautifully furnished with designer touches. The manager, Janith, and his staff were very helpful, and the chef prepared delicious food that was varied and local. Ideal for a restful and perfect short escape.
