It's like Heaven on earth. Hidden gem between a rice field. Beautiful garden. Tasty food and enough. Perfect clean and comfortable room with sri lanka esprit. You can buy a spice from the spicy farm. Everything was perfect.

Very nice and clean rooms. We stayed in a bungalow in the middle of the jungle. The bungalow had nice high ceilings, a little porch and aircondition. The hosts are very nice and made us feel very welcome. We had a nice Dinner surrounded by oil lamps in the middle of nature. The hosts organized a half Day Safari for us and packed a nice breakfast with fruits and sandwiches. The place is very close to the park entrance so we started at 5:30 am bit were still one of the first jeeps in the park. The beds are comfortablewe slept really well.

I had the pleasure of staying at Farm Villa Resort in Katharagama for two nights, and it was a wonderful and memorable experience from start to finish! 🌿 From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm and heartfelt. The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything. Special mention to the front office team – truly a gem in hospitality! The room was spacious, the bathroom was very big, and the overall comfort . The clean and inviting swimming pool was perfect for cooling off and relaxing in the serene atmosphere. What makes Farm Villa Resort truly special is its beautiful location surrounded by nature. The resort is set amidst lush paddy fields, and there's a charming little lake flowing through the property, creating a peaceful, scenic environment ideal for rest and reflection. I enjoyed walking through the paddy fields, listening to the birds in the mornings, and even got to pick fresh fruits from the garden! 🍌🌾 It's also conveniently located – just a short walk to the sacred Kirivehera and Katharagama Dewalaya, making it perfect for both pilgrims and nature lovers.One of the biggest highlights was the full-day Yala Safari arranged by the hotel – an absolutely amazing adventure! 🐘🦁 We saw incredible wildlife, and everything was perfectly organized with a knowledgeable guide.The food was another standout. The traditional Sri Lankan dinner was flavorful and authentic, clearly made with care and love. The breakfast offered plenty of variety, and every meal was beautifully presented. The dining team was attentive and courteous, adding to the overall great experience.In summary, Farm Villa Resort offers far more than just a place to stay – it's a place to connect with nature, enjoy delicious food, and experience genuine Sri Lankan hospitality. The Boundary Yala is located almost right outside the national park which is great for driving out in the morning. Kapila and Nirosha, the couple owning the place, go out of their way to make the possible impossible. As I arrived late, we were in regular contact and they waited up for me. The rooms are basic, but have a great value for money. In addition, Nirosha, is cooking fresh local Sri Lankan food every night. It was super delicious. Just be aware that they charge extra for the meal. I booked the safari into Yala park through them and Kapila joined as our tour guide. He is really knowledgeable and passionate about nature, with a special fascination for birds. I also appreciated that I could store my luggage there during the day as I continued my journey in the evening. The couple even was so friendly and followed up that I made it save and sound to my next location.

I had a memorable stay at the Funky Leopard Safari Lodge. The location is great and the ambience right in the heart of nature is heartwarming. The staff is so friendly and attentive. I was welcomed by Anton with a big smile and felt at home immediately. He was kind and very prompt, attending to my meals, reminding me of the times (😊). The food was well made and delicious. I had the privilege of having dinner at the campsite, by a bonfire. Timirah is a very kind and professional waiter with a perfect sense of timing. I also did a safari in Yala as a solo traveler and was lucky to have Vimansha as my guide. He was kind, attentive and very knowledgeable, which made me feel safe and well cared for throughout the experience. He shared fascinating insights about the park and its wildlife, turning the trip into something truly memorable. Highly recommend him if you want a meaningful safari, not just a drive through the park. Speaking of driving, Geeth was a very skilled driver who did everything to his em reach to make me feel safe and comfortable. I highly recommend this lodge and would love to come back. I took the night walk around the premises, which was wonderfully guided with high respect for all species. Thank you.

    Very friendly and helpful staff, good food in the restaurant, rooms were very clean. Perfect location to go on a safari in Yala. The hotel also organised a Safari for us. Prasad was the best guide and was so knowledgeable! He told us all about the wildlife in the park and did everything he could to make sure we get to see a Leopard! It was a great experience in the Lodge and on The safari with Prasad!

    It’s an excellent location bordering the park in a wilderness setting. Very clean accommodation. Basic but great food. We did a well organised evening safari through them and saw a lot of animals. Overall , excellent value for money property , perhaps the best “value” property we have experienced in Sri Lanka.

    Amazing experience at Lake Front Yala Safari. The room was extremely comfortable and very clean but the best thing was the family that run this guesthouse, very kind and welcoming. The lady cooked a spectacular dinner, the best I have had since I'm in Sri Lanka, the daughter is a very smart girl who speaks very good English, she explained to me about the Sri Lankan culture and traditions of Kataragama. Last but not least I could book the safari through them at a very affordable price. I recommend this place 100%

    I was warmly welcomed on arrival and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Very clean and nice location and close to the Katagamuwa Yala entrance where we did the safari with ease. Breakfast was delicious. Very much value for money for the price I have paid. I can recommend this to anyone who is looking to explore Yala with a tight budget
