Our stay at Royal Mountain Edge, Knuckles was nothing short of magical! As part of our Sri Lankan tour, we arrived on 07/07/2025, and from the moment we stepped into this peaceful retreat, we felt completely at home. We requested a guided hike, a nature walk, and an educational tour focused on the rich flora and fauna of the Knuckles region—and the team delivered beyond our expectations. Every experience was thoughtfully curated, offering the perfect balance of adventure and insight. The infinity pool with its breathtaking mountain views quickly became our favorite spot to relax. The authentic Sri Lankan meals were a true culinary delight, bursting with flavor and tradition. One of the most memorable evenings was spent by the crackling bonfire, enjoying a delicious BBQ dinner under the stars—pure magic! We received a very warm welcome when arriving late in the evening. The hosts arranged a family dinner so we could relax which was delicious . I got sick before my group arrived and they offered to drive me to a doctor. The homestay is immaculate. Very clean, hot showers, comfortable beds and cool AC. Thank you for your hospitality

Nice little two bedroom villa! Recently built. It was clean and the host family were just next door to help with anything we needed. They took us to a Lake where we could swim and the temple with the giant Buda. We originally only planned this place for a stop over on our way more inland to break up a long drive but we were pleasantly surprised with how nice the area was and how many things that were to do around

My stay at Ferndale Retreat Luxury Eco Resort in Kandy was phenomenal. Having traveled to more than 10 countries, I have never experienced such exceptional hospitality. From the moment we checked in, the service was outstanding. The owner, Chaminda, personally welcomed my boyfriend and me, offering us a complimentary trekking excursion to a nearby waterfall where we enjoyed a refreshing dip in the natural pool. This unexpected adventure was truly amazing. We had the pleasure of enjoying home-grown, garden-fresh vegetables from Ferndale's own organic farm. We even picked them ourselves! The in-house chef prepared a wonderful Sri Lankan meal inspired by the farm-to-table concept, and all the food was organic. The meals were delicious and showcased the fresh ingredients beautifully. The rooms were incredibly comfortable, with super cozy beds and a balcony view that transported us to another world. The bathrooms were spotless and the water was incredibly refreshing. If I could, I’d rate my experience 100/10. The resort employs local staff from the nearby village and is committed to 100% sustainable practices. They use eco-friendly materials, conserve water, and support the local community in every possible way. Staying at Ferndale Retreat, you can really feel their dedication to preserving the environment and promoting sustainability. Anyone visiting Kandy should stay at this remarkable place for at least one day—though I highly recommend staying for at least two days to fully experience the beauty and tranquility of this amazing property

This place was just amazing, best part of our Sri Lankan road trip! It’s situated high up in the mountains with beautiful views and no people around. It’s so peaceful. I wish we could stay for weeks. The cottage is so comfy and well equipped. Erik, the owner, is great. He speaks really good English, always replies right away and organises anything you need. We had an old car and had hard times driving in the mountains so he organised parking spot for as and tuk to take us to the cottage. He also organised great guides to take us to Knuckles five peak trek. There is a dog Rocky who is super cute and friendly, making sure you’re safe during your stay. I highly recommend to order rice and curry too, it was so delicious!

What did we like about the property ? The place hands down. What a place. We’ve been to many places, but this, it’s something different. It’s calm, quiet and beautiful at the same time. Hotel staff (Dinesh $ cooking lady) were great and the food, wowww, everything she cooked was so tasty. One of the best places to visit. We will definitely go back here again. Thank you.

We loved this accommodation. Located in Rangala and not far from the Knuckles Mountain Range, our room had a fantastic mountain view. The room was spacious and clean and the owner was very welcoming. There is a beer house downstairs which was a great way to meet some of the locals. The food we had for dinner and breakfast was excellent.
