I recently had my wedding ceremony at this hotel and it is THE BEST. Such a wonderful, gorgeous location on the Douro river. Nice outdoor bar/restaurant and pool lounge area. Easy to grab a boat ride or arrange visits to quintas in the area. Staff work around the clock to make the place comfortable and accomodating. The food is great. Can't recommend it enough!

This accomodation is something else. It is a home and we felt the love right when we came in. We had planned for Douro Valley only one night but we quickly decided to spend here two nights eventhough it rained for the whole time. We took it as a small retreat for us to charge our batteries for next stops. The host, Maria, was very helpful and welcoming. Everything was super clean and tastefully designed and the breakfast was like our slow sunday brunch at home.

Cute, quaint bed and breakfast about an hour away from most local destinations (Passadicos do Paiva, Lamego, etc). The hospitality and friendliness of couple who run the bed and breakfast was great. I didn't speak much Portuguese and they didn't speak much English, but we muddled through. Breakfast was typical with meat/cheese/bread and homemade cakes. The room is quaint, clean, and spacious. The sheets were fleece and kept me nice and warm despite the chilly night. Parking is easy. Wifi was okay in certain parts of the room. There are several restaurants and a grocery store about 5 minutes drive away.

We lived in the authentic house/villa which was outstanding. Near the villa, there were many historical cars – old Porsches, Rolls Royce, Mercedes Benz and others. We enjoyed the pool near the main building of vineyard with comfy sunbeds. The nearby little towns gave us very pleasant food experiences. Just ask the reception of the recommendations.
