We absolutely loved it there! I mean, if you want to experience the warm-hearted people of North Vietnam, don‘t look any further. We arrived - after a horrible 7h "sleeper" bus - at half past two in the morning and were welcomed with open arms. Breakfast is amazing with a stunning view over the rice fields. The beds could be a bit softer, but you won’t complain after all day hiking around the stunning valley. Good food in the village is hard to find, so look for a pho place just when you enter the main part of town called "ẨM THỰC DÂN TỘC TÂY BẮC" (it‘s not on Google Maps). They only serve pho, but it‘s authentic and delicious. We could not have wished for more visiting this beautiful place. If you think about going north, skip Sapa, come to Mu Chang Chai and stay at Hoà Thào‘s!

The owners are super kind and helpful, the location offers an amazing view, the bed is hard but great for back pain, the food is awesome and the tour in bike and the hike are incredible!

Absolutely everything. From our rooms to the pools to the atmosphere of the hotel and, of course, its staff. Everything about this hotel is superb, from the breakfast to the spa area, which I highly recommend. Our room had a private pool, which made this stay one of the best experiences for the family.

We had a wonderful 6-night stay at A Su’s homestay. He and his family are very kind and welcoming, and helped us with anything we needed. A Su speaks English well so it was really nice to chat with him during dinner. We learned a lot about Hmong culture. Even though his parents and wife didn’t speak English they still interacted a lot with us. The food was lovely and we had a nice fire in our room every evening. The view from the homestay is great (it’s quite high up). It was a super relaxing stay.

Mu Cang Chai exceeded expectations for beauty- the rice terraces are Wow- Motorbike hire and restaurant within 100m - recommend a manual bike if you plan to visit the more elevated rice patties for better handling on the steep hills - a few locations taking a ride from local motorbike guides to specific rice fields up very steep and dangerous roads is the best option at 100k a person - rode one myself and realised their bikes were better suited than the one I rented. Great Homestay - kind people - even dropped us off at the bus pickup point - we stayed in a rustic bungalow on the hill at the back of the Homestay - a cool experience- Brent & Jacqui NZ

Amazing Homestay! The room was perfect, comfortable bed, hot water in the shower. The best thing was the owners, they cared so much for us. We arrived with a night bus from Hanoi, they came to pick us up at 7am, let us check in early, gave us snacks and fruit which was so nice and made us feel very comfortable. When we needed to leave and had problems with the bus company they called for us and helped so much. Really recommend this homestay, great rooms, great location and amazing family!
