Cheap hotels in Mù Cang Chải

I like the stay, very good, friendly, clean.

Very warm welcome. The host couple is very helpful (bus tickets, guide for a hiking tour). The food was very good, especially the dinner. We really enjoyed the time.

Mu Cang Chai Homestay and trekking is managed by Ky and his wife they are both very welcoming and available to give us all sort of information The location is high at about 20 minutes from Mu Can Chai town You can enjoy beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere! They cook dinner and breakfast for you and the options to discover the area by trekking or with a motorbike tour are many !

The food was excellent and more than I could eat. A wonderfully cozy fire heated up the dining area. And beer was icy cold.

If you want to be close to real life of Vietnamese, try this place. It's in the middle of hills, with one of the best views which I have ever seen, close to villages where you can find people, which are still not so influenced by tourism. The room was clean and nice, but the most important point is the personality of the owner, really brilliant lady who is able to organised everything what you need. And the dinner with her and her family was the excellent and very pleasant experience.

We loved everything, this place is wonderfull ! The owner is realy kind and a very cook ! We get very good tips to travel around. Ho, and you can have a room with a great view and very hot water !!! It's just perfect 😁 You should go there ! It's was our best place in North Vietnam (and i went to sa pa and Ha giang, but it's the best). Enjoy your trip here 😁

This is an exceptional and truly charming hotel. For context, we are well travelled and have stayed in luxury hotels all over the world. There is something very special about Garrya Mu Cang Chai. Firstly, the hotel design is beautiful and reflects the local area. Stunning communal spaces with high bamboo ceilings, green marble tiles used in the pool, sun loungers the same colour as the soil etc. The staff are wonderful. Extremely helpful, proud to be working at the hotel and genuinely want you to have the best stay. Special mention to Luis in the bar and the F&B manager, but really, all the drivers, wait staff and reception have genuine smiles on their faces! They are also proud to employ local staff (H’Mong) that they are training up and again just really want to make your stay as good as possible. We were lucky enough to stay in a 2 bedroom villa with pool and it was beautiful. We also saw the rooms and if you are a couple, I would definitely recommend upgrading to the Grand Deluxe room, (not much more expensive and IMO the deluxe room is too small for a hotel of this calibre)! If you have a sense of adventure, the hotel can organise a motorbike trip to the horseshoe paddy and bamboo forest. Mu Cang Chai is an area of outstanding natural beauty and well worth exploring. This was one of our favourite parts of the trip. Spa is excellent, as were the activities organised by the hotel. Gently, but enough for 2-3 nights.

Our stay was excellent thanks to the owner of homestay, his wife and all hiss family. They were very friendly and helpfull. Our bus was late, we arrived at 2 a..m. in the night and the owner accomodated us without any problems. We were tired and very grateful for his willingnes.

We had the privilege of staying at A Su Homestay in Mu Cang Chai for a couple of nights, and it was truly one of the most memorable experiences of our trip to Vietnam. Nestled amidst the breathtaking terraced rice fields for which the region is famous, the homestay offered not only a stunning view but also a genuine cultural immersion that we will never forget. What made our stay exceptional was having A Su as both our host and guide. His knowledge and passion for Hmong culture shone through in every interaction. He introduced us to the rich traditions of his community, sharing stories and teaching us about their way of life. One of the most unique experiences was learning to play the Qeej, a traditional Hmong bamboo flute. While it was challenging, A Su’s father patient instruction made it so much fun, and it deepened our appreciation for the Hmong people's artistry and music. We were also honored to share dinner with his lovely family each evening. The meals were not only delicious—featuring fresh, local ingredients—but also a true reflection of Hmong culinary traditions. Sitting together with his family, listening to their stories, and laughing over shared moments made us feel like part of the community, even if just for a short time. Mu Cang Chai itself is a stunning destination, but staying with A Su elevated our experience to something truly unforgettable. If you’re looking to go beyond the surface and connect with the people and culture of this beautiful region, I can’t recommend A Su Homestay enough. It’s a rare opportunity to see the world through a different lens and take home not just pictures but lasting memories and a deeper understanding of Hmong life.
