Cheap hotels in Mbabat

Nice hosts, they prepared dinner for us for 150 ZAR/person on request, but the dinner was a 3-course buffet. Beef stew with rice, vegetable salad with dressing, Greek salad, and fruit salad for dessert. I have to say the food was the best of the whole holiday I have spent in Africa. Big comfortable bed and pillows, shower for 2. Close to Kruger park.

We arrived quite late after a struggle with navigation but had great directiond and such a warm welcome from our host Annie. The house is so beautiful and inviting, with such a great eye for detail. We loved spending time on the veranda and the evenings around the fire was exactly what we needed after long days in the Kruger. We loved the four legged friends that checked in every now and then. We hope to come back and enjoy more of the facilities!

Set in a stunning location just outside the Greater Kruger Park, there are two viewing decks from which to watch game (we saw elephants, kudu, impala and warthog during our stay). Tommy, Andrea, Jan and their team were lovely and super welcoming. The pool area and surrounds are beautiful and were just what we were looking for, somewhere to relax with a book after a long safari in the Kruger. Lovely bar and a la carte restaurant.

Great place to stay near Orpen gate of the Kruger. Really interesting place with great facilities. They also contribute to the local community! Fantastic value for money.

Breakfast was good, they provided a bit of a buffet which caters for various diets. It was delicious and there's a generous amount of food. The location isn't that far from the mall, 20-40 minutes drive and it's an hour away from Graskop where most tourist attractions are. Zodwa and Lawrence are very accommodating, I definitely wouldn't mind coming back here.

Everything was awesome, i enjoyed my stay. I'd advise everyone who needs a Getaway to go to Geurnsey lodges.

The staff, every single one of them were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to satisfy our needs. Oopsie the owner was also very friendly and a great host. We can highly recommend this guest house. We will be back. Next time our stay will be a bit longer. Thank you 😘

From the moment we arrived we knew this was going to be a special place. Last year we also stayed in a game reserve very close to Ukanyi and thought this would take some beating but Ukanyi certainly did. The Villa was sensational and words or photos can never show you what it’s really like. From the pick up at the airport to the short drive to the game reserve we knew then we were in for a spectacular treat. On arrival to the Villa we was greeted by the manager Junce who introduced us the our chef Riaan, our waiter Jim and our housekeeper whose name escapes me and proceeded to show us around this spectacular Villa. All I say is this place is an incredible experience and one we will never forget. The food prepared by our chef Riaan was sensational and he described every dish that he cooked like he was on Masterchef having to explain it to his peers, Jim our waiter also left nothing out in his presentation and service and of course the Villa was spotless clean every day apart from the odd bug that chose to come in during the day which of course is hard to avoid living in the bush. As for the game drives they too didn’t disappoint with seeing all of the big 5 and much more. With it being our 31 year old son first every Safari he was blown away by it all, for him to see in abundance Lions, Elephants, Buffalo, Leopard, Rhinos, Giraffe, Warrhog, Cheetah, Hippo, Nyala, Waterbuck & many many more on his very first visit was amazing. The information given by our game drive team of Coswell & Jika was second to none, their knowledge of this area(16,500 hectares) was incredible. The highlight of the game drive was the spotting of a male Leopard just as the sun was going down will live with us all forever.

Rhino's rest is a self catering accommodation within the Moditlo game reserve in Hoedspruit. This is a top luxury place with all amenities you can think of. One of our party had his birthday during our stay and the management surprised us with a huge birthday cake. We needed the full two days to 'process' it :-) . Via the nearby lodge we did the afternoon/night game drive and it was above our expectations. Good sightings of Lion, Cheetah, Leopard, Jackal, Rhino ... . To top it off a Civet Cat came to visit us during our late night braai. Amazing experience worth every Rand, Euro or Dollar you have.
