The area is right in the old town, very close to all the shops and beautiful stream, but it’s on a quiet street, so don’t need to worry about the noise. The hotel owner is very nice and helpful, he helps with all what we need. The hotel room is also nice and cozy and clean. There will be a staff who will meet you at the drop off point and help you carry all your luggages to the hotel. The hotel also able to arrange pick up and drop off from airport or train station. Will definitely be back again.

A great value and an extremely well appointed hotel room with very nice touches and great furnishings. Everything felt very new and clean and definitely one of the nicer 4 star hotels in the airport area. Good working AC and very helpful front desk staff - including Joyce who helped me with my WIFI. Breakfast is high quality but is mostly Chinese style (which I like) with Rice noodles 🍜 and a few hot Chinese dishes. Hotel 🏨 is in a little shopping area (with a bunch of other similar airport hotels) that have some tea shops and local restaurants. Great choice for a layover at the Kunming airport.

The service helped us and they were kind. We recomend it!

At the hostel, all rooms are equipped with a terrace. Super cozy place, both the private room and dorms (tried both). In a quiet alley in the old town, serves good and fairly priced food and most of all very accommodating owners - helping and giving advice and also really nice to just talk with them. Would always book here when I’m in Shangri La.

Jacky’s place was awesome and Jacky himself went above and beyond. He speaks English which is so helpful. He picked us up at the train station in Jianshui. His place was very nice and our room had a view of the terraces. He is also an excellent cook - we ate all but one meal there for the 2 days we stayed and each meal was exceptional. He gave us an itinerary for our half day in his village and we went in the rice terraces it was awesome. On our way out we were going to train to Xuishuangbanna but he said a bus would be way faster and dropped us at the bottom of the mountain to catch the bus. Would recommend to anyone.
