The breakfast room is the jewel of the place: the furniture and tableware are beautiful, the cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, and jams are delicious, the warm bread releases a gentle steam when broken, and Gunnar is busy in the kitchen preparing pancakes. The hosts are charming—we hope to return someday, as they have created a haven of peace and good taste. The region also has some very interesting towns, such as Aabenraa with its fascinating harbor. I recommend booking one in the front row — the view from the window is stunning. There are lovely dog rose bushes right in front, and every walk to the secluded beach felt special. I barely noticed any neighbors, which made the place feel like a private retreat. It’s rare to have everything you need for comfort while also feeling like you have the whole place to yourself.
