Nick, Kate (and little G) were great hosts, offering help and suggestions for places to visit and we made the most of the location. Multiple hiking routes and picturesque towns like Lierganes and San Roque de Riomiera are close by, while Santander (surprisingly beautiful with great beaches), Comillas and the caves at Altamira are only an hour away. Bilbao is also within an 1 and 3/4 hours by the coastal motorway (we don’t recommend the alternate route over the mountains - it was pretty hairy) and the Carbaceno park is a must. The cabin has a great rustic feel, while including all the modern comforts you need (the WiFi and smart TV is great, considering the location). This was our first visit to Cantabria and we will definitely return - thank you Nick and Kate!
