I am not sure how close it is to local amenities in terms of walking as I used a car and didn't explore the local area much.

No one likes getting sick while on vacation, but our son managed to catch a very bad bug and needed medical attention. That's when Deborah, the host, helped us. She gave us information about British system, and was flexible about some of the breakfast issues (son wouldn't eat, etc). She's very gracious! As for the property, our room was spacious, with two sitting chairs overlooking the streets below. Our room (a triple) had a fridge ) Because we had to stay in, it turned out to be a great place to relax while my son slept (unlike some cramped rooms). If weather is nasty, I can imagine people wanted to stay in, have tea, and read. Overall, it's great to see that local, family guest houses still exist. And ones like this one, managed by Deborah, are a wonderful place to stay.

I liked that options such as Netflix, BBC iPlayer, etc., were available on the telly. Particularly because it was an FA Cup weekend and I'd been on the road, so getting to watch the match replay on BBC iPlayer hit all the right notes for me.
