So you get to stay in a place of historic charm. Nonetheless the guest house is quite comfortable and accommodating. The landlady aka manager Hitomi, alongside with her team, were splendid! To make the stay more easy for international guests, there are little notes left everywhere, which is truly endearing. In the back of the house there’s a beautiful beer garden which is open to passing hikers and guests alike. There you get the awesome-est bruschetta with home made goats cheese and all sorts of craft beer. Which brings me to the food: if you miss this, you will regret it! The owner of the guest house is Italian and the dinner was exquisite. Something you would never expect in the countryside of Wakayama. We would always come back to this place if we were to come to Chikatsuyu again.

Getting out of the train station you can turn to the left and after crossing the railway it is a two-minutes walk, there is a mini supermarket just in front of the accommodation and a big supermarket 4 minutes up the main road. The Villa is so adorable, if you have time for a little stroll, you will enjoy it. I strongly recommend it.

The Minshuku is very clean, with all the comfort of the room, kitchen and bathroom + shower. The best part is really Ike san hospitality, he can speak several languages and he is a great cook. From dinner to breakfast, including the lunch to go, everything he prepared was fully enjoyed. He is also very kind and overall interesting person to chat with. He definitely made our stay more comfortable.
