There was plentiful hot water and air con and WiFi functioned perfectly, not always the case in other places where we stayed . In our opinion, the food and service could not be faulted, and Suresh, the owner, was an impeccable host, and provided a very personal service. This was an amazing cozy stay with the absolute sweetest family. They helped me out with transportation, planning out what to do in Nuwara Eliya, and the food was amazing! The location is really central too. I was really happy here, I can’t recommend it enough.

Situated in Nuwara Eliya and only 3.8 km from Gregory Lake, Shevyhaws features accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. The accommodation provides airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. We loved our stay at Shevyhaws, and would love to stay there again. Chaminda and his family are wonderful guests, they could not do enough for you. Breakfast was delicious and had everything from fruit, to toast, jams and omlettes to curry and roti and pancakes. Accommodation is a bit away from town about 2.5 km, but that was not a problem as Chaminda gave us rides to and from town at no cost, whenever we texted him. He recommended a delicious vegetarian restaurant. He organised daytrips with his 4x4 Jeep at very good prices including the Horton plains, and some tea plantations and waterfalls. The Lovers leap with it's beautiful surroundings is 15 mins walking distance from Shevyhaws. Shower wàs hot and powerful and bedroom was spotlessly clean and included warm cosy blankets for the colder nights. Would strongly recommend to anyone considering.

Castlereigh Reservoir Seaplane Base Airport is 46 km away. Beautiful place! Amazing location, super clean, great facilities. Host was waiting for us in the rain at 10 PM, super easy to reach on WhatsApp, amazing breakfast in the morning. Upgraded our stay to a nicer room for no extra charge because it was empty! It was our best stay in Sri Lanka. Connected us with a Tuktuk driver (Chandi) for the morning who gave us a tour around which was perfect - went to two tea plantations, two waterfalls, and so many view points. He also called a friend at the train station to verify our train time and ordered take out for us to pick up and take on the train.
