The hosts are amazing and were the most welcoming people we met throughout our trip. Major attractions were a few minutes away by tuktuk. The whole staff of this place made our stay beyond amazing.

I liked the practicality of the the concrete finishes on these builds. They had there own personal tuk tuk driver which was rather convenient given the location isn’t on a main road. They have a sister company (Amaroo) which is located on the beach which they suggested and was also fantastic.

I had a fantastic 7-day stay at Villa Rumassala—and I loved it so much that I extended my visit by another 10 days. I was based there while completing a medical elective at a nearby hospital, and the villa offered the perfect balance of comfort and tranquillity. Tucked away from the main road, it felt like a peaceful retreat, complete with a serene pool and fresh towels provided daily. The Villas are located about 15 min walk from the main Unawatuna beach and shopping/food area or a short tuktuk ride to Jungle beach (unless you're ok with walking up some steep hills!). The rooms were spacious, exceptionally comfortable, and featured modern, spotless bathrooms. I particularly appreciated the communal kitchen area, which included a kettle and a washing machine—small touches that made a big difference during a longer stay. There was 24/7 security, making me feel safe throughout my stay. There was also a small gym that was open 24/7, however it did not have aircon which might put people off using in the Sri Lankan heat! What truly made my time unforgettable was the staff. They were incredibly warm and welcoming, always making sure I had everything I needed. I was even invited to join in the Sinhala New Year celebrations—a beautiful and memorable experience. A special thank you to Sasini, whose kindness and attention to detail ensured I was comfortable throughout my stay.

All the staff are super helpful (they picked us up at the station and picked us to the main road several times) The services are always clean, the kitchen is very spacious and well served, the owner has also provided tea and several infusions for every need, all of high quality. Relaxing outside will be a must! More than in a hostel I felt like I was staying in a 5-star hotel !! 😍 The owner also made us do meditation and for my birthday they also organized a wonderful surprise, I couldn’t ask for anything better, we felt like family, we can’t wait to come back!
