The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. This place is a DREAM. We have visited Laguna de Apoyo a few times in the past, and have stayed in different hotels. San Simian was a lot better than the others. It had access to everything we needed, AND it was a lot more quiet, it had lots of shade and beautiful gardens. There is a hike to the Catarina Mirador 100 m away from the hotel, which was a bonus. You wake up every morning with the sounds of monkeys, birds, squirrels and a beautiful view of the water. You can order a coffee thermos and have it ready for you when you wake up in the morning, before breakfast, so you can enjoy it in your room or in the hammock outside your room, or by the lake. The shower in the cabin we stayed in was open concept. What a lovely experience to take a shower under the stars! There is always warm water, which is a plus in Nicaragua The food is delicious, the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Daniel, the server is always ready to help with whatever you need. Daniel, the owner is amazing, He has lots of great information about the area, and about other places to stay in Nicaragua. He is always making sure that you are well taken care of, and he takes great care of his staff. We are already planning out next stay at San Simian. Can't recommend it enough!

Set within 10 km of Volcan Masaya and 14 km of Mirador de Catarina in Nindirí, Las Cabañas Encantadas de Nindirí provides accommodation with seating area. Each accommodation at the 3-star aparthotel has lake views, and guests can enjoy access to a garden and to a terrace. The cabin had a lot of charm and was well equipped, the kitchen had a large fridge, microwave, stove with oven, toaster & everything else you would need. The room sizes were great, the a/c worked well, & the view was beautiful! The outside sitting area was very nice. A couple of cute cats visited, so bring some kibble 😊. Within walking distance to all amenities. Only regret was that we stayed just the one night.

A beautiful stay in family home. Comfortable room and air conditioning right bt the courtyard and pool. All very friendly and helpful and even gave us a lift to the bus station when we left.

La Casa de Leo - Hostal, Restaurante y Artesania local is located in San Juan de Oriente, 1.9 km from Mirador de Catarina and 14 km from Volcan Mombacho. The hostel has a terrace and mountain views, and guests can enjoy a meal at the restaurant or a drink at the bar. Breakfasts made by Yanet were excellent and different each day with fruits, eggs, rice and beans (gallo pinto) and coffee. The core family (Hébert, Yanet and their son Lester) with whom I dealt with everyday are truly genuine people, they have helped me 200% with research on land/houses in that area (my goal when I visited Nicaragua), We had excellent conversations, like I never had in other Latin countries, all in all if you want to understand this amazing country more and you speak Spanish, you will learn a lot. Also, members of the family are master potters, they have a small studio downstairs where you can buy their work and also, very recently, take a ceramics course on site. Don't forget to ask them who is 'Leo'
