Udawalawe
Located in Udawalawe, within 11 km of Udawalawe National Park, Makulu Safari Camping is an accommodation offering river views. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. The property offers a shuttle service and features a garden and outdoor fireplace. Camping along the river was very appealing. The very strong rains made using the river impossible and it was quite damp for tenting, but that was not the fault of the proprietors. They arranged safari vehicles and guides and gave us very good advice about the length of the safari that would be best for our group.
Belihul Oya
Featuring garden views, Ahaspokuna by Eco Team features accommodation with patio, around 44 km from Haputale Railway Station. There is a private entrance at the luxury tent for the convenience of those who stay. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. A truely unforgettable experience with Dulara and the team at Ahaspokuna. It’s difficult to pinpoint one thing that stood out as everything was exceptional. The food, the hospitality, the room, the environment, you will not regret staying here! Hope to be back one day. If you’ve read about the leaches, don’t bother worrying, they’re tiny and a non-event.
Ratnapura
At the luxury tent, all units are fitted with a desk. With a private bathroom equipped with a bidet and a hair dryer, units at the luxury tent also provide guests with free WiFi. At the luxury tent, all units include bed linen and towels.

Awesome stay! Prashan (host) was brilliant he organised our safari, cooked us fantastic breakfasts and dinners, took us for a paddle down the river and taught us about all the local plant life and wildlife. Camp site was very clean, as were the tents
We stayed in a luxury tent which was fantastic value for money! The outdoor bathroom was fabulous. We overlooked the pool and it was a lovely walk to the restaurant. We took the 6 hours safari with Lasa, he was fantastic! He explained so much wildlife and took time to find more animals for us. The food provided was great too, eating by the lake was beautiful.
It goes without saying this is not a 5 star hotel, however we knew that going in, as should you. We wanted an authentic camping experience in the wild before our safari and that’s what we got. The service and staff are phenomenal, they make it an unforgettable experience from the sunset canoe safari to the dinner under the lanterns and coconut trees. Tents are comfortable and clean but bring bug spray for outside.
An amazing place next to the national park The luxury tents were amazing, the staff super kind and our safari was just wonderful
Wonderful tent room with a huge comfortable double bed with mosquito net, which can easily fit a three people. Great atmosphere in the tent and “in” the outside bathroom. Tremendous pool (open till 10PM) is surrounded by palm trees and the tents could still be used after checkout. Superb service with a welcome drink and good, reasonably priced Safari-options offered. Good Sri Lankan and European breakfast buffet is served at the restaurant.
Eranga and his family recieve and welcome us so well. The property has 2 luxury tents, comfy bed inside, clean toilet. We checked in on new year's eve, Eranga's wife put in a huge effort to cooked us a fantastic dinner. The next day we were surprised again by the breakfast after safari tour. This place totally exceeded our expectations.
