Beginning with the pick-up service at the airport upon our arrival until facilitation of our departure towards Senegal everything was perfectly organized by the host Jerreh. Late check-out was no problem at all. Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant terrace just 50 m next to the ocean surf was unique. The endless beach in front of the premises was inviting to long walks until the Senegalese border.

I loved everything—the place, the friendly stuff, the host, the nature. We came here after our friend recommended it to us, and we were not disappointed. The breakfasts were very nice, and the food in general was amazing. The Retreat is in a place that is 5 minutes walking distance from a BEAUTIFUL beach and a nice beach bar. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. Do not hesitate if you are looking for a genuine experience. It is so peaceful!

Exceptional hosts who truly make you feel at home in a peaceful, relaxing setting—perfect for recharging. The rooms are clean and fresh, and I ended up eating all my meals here because the food was delicious. A wonderful location outside the tourist areas of the Gambia. The lodge is very comfortable and the hosts are exceptional. It was like being a house guest in their own bird reserve. I went for the birding and was not not disappointed with the location - the woods and the lagoon offered an amazing variety of habitats. The food was very authentic and done to a very high standard. All the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.
