Cabins in Kintamani

We stayed at this place for two nights in June, and honestly, I hesitated for a long time before booking it, because I had read so many negative reviews. Now I’d like to share my own experience and respond to some of those concerns. 1. Location: Some people said the road to the hotel was terrible and even scary. Here’s what I can say: we had a private driver, not a regular taxi, and the road was asphalted almost the entire way. Even in the rain, it was totally fine. Yes, the last 5 minutes have some steep turns, but nothing extreme — any local driver will manage it easily. And here’s something no one mentioned (but absolutely should have): the hotel provides free shuttle service to and from the main road, where you’ll find supermarkets, cafes, or can just go for a walk. They will drop you off and pick you up whenever it’s convenient for you. That’s an amazing service, and I was really surprised no one had written about it. 2. Insects: Yes, there are insects. But you’re literally in the mountains, surrounded by greenery — what do you expect? That said, small flies (especially during the day) can be annoying, so I highly recommend bringing an insect repellent spray — it’s a must. Also, bring something against mosquitoes. Just keep the windows and curtains closed after sunset, and you’ll be fine. 3. Kitchen: The kitchen was great — you really have everything you need to cook, and we actually did. The hotel provides basic ingredients like oil, jam, bread, eggs, instant noodles, a few sauces, etc. Plus, the store is only 5 minutes away by car, so you can get anything else you need. 4. Shower and Bath: It’s true — you won’t be able to take long, luxurious showers or fill up the bathtub quickly. But there’s enough hot water for a normal shower, and to be honest, I never really felt like using the bathtub anyway. In most places in Indonesia, bathtubs take a while to fill — it’s not unusual. 5.

Radia & team they are just wonderful! Great company! They serve food and juice. Even if it's very simple and Indonesian style it is very good. There are many locals that come to eat/drink there so you have the chance to exchange with them, know about their culture. The cottage Is very cute and clean. If needed you can ask the host and they will arrange you the transport as it is a bit difficult to get there without motorbike or taxi. 2 min walk there is an amazing view. You can also ask them and they can take you to a 20mjn sunset trekking with amazing view. Otherwise they also organize the regular mount batur sunrise tour with three options ( short,medium and long). It was great I took the long one around the crater and walking on the lava sand.

An unforgettable stay with outstanding service! We spent several nights at this lovely accommodation and couldn’t have been happier. The rooms are clean, cozy, and thoughtfully furnitured. Garden and pool are perfect for relaxing after an adventurous day in Bali. A very special thank-you goes to Komang, our wonderful host and guide. He not only cooked regional meals and organized our Mount Batur tour flawlessly, but also personally took us through the village and gave us a genuine insight into the local culture—including a visit to the temple. His warmth, knowledge, and helpful nature truly elevated our experience. The place is a little hidden away, but that's all part of its charm. It's nestled between the family homes of an agricultural village at the far end of the lake, away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists. It's definitely worth the journey to get there. You'll love how authentic it feels. You'll get to experience real Balinese life, with a wonderful blend of tradition and modern times. Sadly, 10 points are all we can give... we’d give more if we could! Highly recommended to anyone looking for a meaningful and memorable stay.

The weather is so cold until no AC is needed. The basic amenities are provided and the hosts are super friendly and attentive.

We stayed here for ten nights with our children. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with smiles and a warm welcome. Addi is the owner of the twin houses, and his staff and family all help. Honestly, I've never met such an amazing group of people. When we needed help, food, advice and local knowledge, nothing was too much for them and at least one family member is always on hand to help. Addi's family are business people, with everything a tourist needs nearby to the Twin Houses. Between them, the family run a well stocked shop (I recommend the Balinese Arak vodka mixed with Coke), a bike rental outfit, a laundry and a restaurant serving traditional Balinese dishes. Addi also helped transporting us about in his Jeep until we decided to rent scooters, by far the best way to get around, if you can stomach the steep hills and traffic. Over the course of ten days, we got to know the family well and, by the time we left, felt part of them. Several nights drinking Arak cemented a bond that will endure fond memories. One night, we were invited to a family party next door and were treated to home cooked food. Some evenings, we were treated to music by Addi on his guitar, balinese piano and balinese flute. Addi taught my children how to play all three. They lit a fire for us next to the eating area and often we ate and relaxed by fireside in the evenings. In the mornings, we were greeted with big smiles from the resident chef, offers of coffee and breakfast. A great way to start the day. In summary, if you are looking for a taste of genuine Balinese culture, which is centred around family, then this should be on your itinerary. If you stay here, don't be shy, buy a bottle of Arak and coke and join the family, you might regret it in the morning but it'll be worth it. Thank you Addi, Addi's family and friends. With the bright bamboo cabins and the private hot spring pools, this is a magical place. We were also really happy when we read on booking, that they have a shared kitchen - that was our main reason to book there. As vegetarians, after 4 weeks in Bali, we were craving homecooked vegetables! It was so great to cook for ourselves, and the kitchen has all you need. The cabins are pretty basic, so if you're looking for luxury, this isn't your place to be. But it holds another sort of luxury: Lying under the stars in warm water is just fantastic.
