The location was 10 minute drive from the centre of Taupo, breakfast was excellent. Angie and Garth were incredibly friendly giving us help with places to eat and all around the local area. Despite the cold weather in New Zealand for summer we had a fire in the lodge to keep us warm.

Ron at the front desk was full of information about the area. Very knowledgeable. Room was perfect. Great location, walking distance to the beach and town. Close enough to walk places but very quiet. Great for sleeping. There is also an excellent Thai restaurant right on the property as well. I will definitely stay there again on my next visit. Highly recommended.

    The breakfast was the best part of our stay at Chalet Eiger. Nina cooked to order beautiful English breakfasts and provided fruit platters, cereal and yogurts of gourmet standard. The location was leafy and quiet with pretty views of Lake Taupo, too far to walk to town for restaurants but the Chalet offers free shuttle in.
