Not only the place was beautiful, but the owner was so kind and helpful! The tui lodge is definitely one of the best places we have stayed so far. Simple, clean, quiet, affordable. Although the place has quite a few rooms, it never felt busy. You have 2 kitchens and several toilets around the area. It never gave me the "hostel impresion". Frances has a beautiful dog too! Her name is Nala, we love heeer! During a rainy day she also gave us some recommendations to hand around and to eat.. great!!!!

Fantastic location up on the hill with views across the bay, nicely decorated, with lots of space and a fully equipped kitchen. An easy drive to some nice beaches and Whitianga town. A great place to end a tour of NZ!
