This was an amazing stop on our honeymoon. We were a bit unlucky with the weather as it rained both days, but it was a great place to disconnect from everything and relax. The property is very nicely appointed with everything you need to stay in and cook, amazing wildlife around the river. We did a hike and saw the giraffe’s in the adjacent park which was a highlight of the trip.

Surrounded by greenery, the Winterton Lodge @ Rose Cottage features a splash pool. Elegantly decorated, accommodation at Winterton includes a TV with satellite channels and a private bathroom.

What a beautiful spot to stay! The host is very kind, place is clean and tidied daily. The common room is beautiful decorated and the breakfast is one of the better ones we've had on our travels with homemade juices and whole grain bread. Out room had a double shower and a jacuzzi bath, really great to relax after some Drakensberg hikes.

Excellent Host and accommodation in a beautiful area. The location is perfect, a little off for a very peaceful atmosphere. The house is huge and offers everything necessary for a great stay.

Spion Kop Lodge is set on a 700 hectare farm, just 15 km north of Winterton. It borders the Spion Kop Nature Reserve and is situated close to historic battlefields.

It was well situated to enjoy a battlefield outing. We enjoyed the rural atmosphere. There was a fun run and we enjoyed the energy and laughter. It was great meeting up and visiting with the owners who joined us for dinner and specially organised a trip to the battlefields the next day. It was great revisiting great childhood memories of the region. Accommodation was great and the meals were great. Staff was very friendly and professional.

19 Mount Champagne is a hidden gem! We had a brilliant 1 week stay. The unit was much bigger than we expected - 4 bedrooms PLUS an extra 2 single beds in the loft which suited our 2 children aged 5 & 8 years old. This allowed all adults to have their own room and space (we had 4 generations staying in the house - a great granny, grandparents, an uncle, and us with our 2 young children). We had a lovely cleaner - Zinhle - who serviced the house every day - she was very sweet, thorough & cleaned to a high standard. We are visiting from the UK & travelling all over the province, so I was very grateful when Zinhle helped with doing a load of clothes washing for us. The house has an exquisite location - beautiful views & close to the pool, dam & tennis court. The private garden was absolutely stunning & our children spent many hours exploring the hidden paths & playing on the swing. The resort managers - Des & Lorraine - are incredibly friendly and very helpful … Des even came to help us ‘after hours’ with a query that I had. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely recommend this lovely house to people and I’m sure we’ll be back again one day :)
