At the hostel, each room is equipped with a wardrobe. With a private bathroom, some of Casa Marbella's triple and quadruple rooms also have views of the river. The is the best place we stayed by far in Costa Rica. The quintessential of guest house. Comfy and sparkling clean room with AC, well tough in term of space to put you stuff (shelf, hooks, etc). The location is great and there is a beautiful terrace directly on the canal to relax or take your breakfast (included and good). There is a fridge at guest disposal for you to leave cold drinks or snacks and the leave cutlery and plates at disposal if you want to pick up food and eat it at the beautiful terrace. They also offer many activities at good price. Staff is nice and helpful. We really loved it!

Each rustic room here features wooden décor and comes equipped with a seating area and a private bathroom with a shower and toilet. They also include a private balcony with a hammock and rocking chairs. The location is gorgeous! Right next to the beach (which isn’t meant for swimming) and a 20 minute walk into the small village. It was Turtle season and we baby sea turtles on our morning walk and at night you can take a guid tour to see the turtles coming onto land to lay there eggs. The beach is closed between 6pm and 6am to protect the turtles. Take note that getting to Tortuguero you need to take a water taxi that leaves from La Panova (large parking area) and the last one leaves at around 4pm. We paid a bit extra (€15 per person in total) to have the watertaxi drop us off at the Mawamba Lodge. We were traveling end of September and the river water was really low so it took almost 3 hours to get to the Lodge but otherwise it is about 1 hour. But we really didn’t mind cause the boat trip is really unique and goes right through the jungle of Tortuguero.

The functional and simple rooms feature a wardrobe and a private bathroom with shower. All the rooms also offer views of the garden. This is a truly family run resort with three generations of Willis’s to help us with our trip. The cabins were basic but perfect for what we needed. Highly recommend the early morning bird watching tour, so peaceful out on the river and we saw incredible wildlife. A definite highlight. We also appreciated their honesty when the heavens opened and they suggested we shouldn’t do their night walk - excellent advice!

Juan Santamaría International Airport is 134 km away, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. Loved it. Location was fabulous. Although you had to get a boat across to the town that was part of the fun. The accommodation, grounds and pool were lovely, the food was good (we ate in both days (which is very unusual for us) and the staff couldn’t do enough for you. Great early morning wildlife boat trip with Antonio. Saw and learnt a lot. Big thumbs up and thank you to all the staff from us.

Free WiFi is provided and the property is surrounded by scenic canals, flora and fauna providing amazing views. Lovely, very helpful staff. Full coach transport from San Jose and back, but hired a car and drove to the half way restaurant. Arranged by messaging ahead. Left the car there for free and picked it up on the way back k trough. 3 different tours included in the price. All meals included. Truly a wonderful experience.

The rooms feature an elegant décor with wooden furniture, a seating area, ceiling fan, and private bathroom with shower offering free toiletries. The place is amazing! It’s really special to have a bungalow in the middle of the jungle without any windows (just bug screens). It’s nicely located at the same island as the national park so there are a lot of monkeys and other animals around the rooms. We do recommend the boat tour activity and tortuguero hill tour offered by the hotel. Swimming pool was great!

The night turtle watching trip is a very strong experience, for all family members. Remember you're in side a mangrove in a rainforest.
