I can't really say enough positive things about Amanda and Les, and their beautiful property. They were exceptionally welcoming, and cooked us a delicious meal (South African-style braai), for dinner - which had been arranged beforehand. They (and another guest) joined us for dinner, and we all shared stories and laughter. The property is a bit of an oasis of peace, with glow worms to view at night, for those who wish to seek them out (they're fairly close to the main buildings - try the Night Sight setting on your camera). The bed was extremely comfortable, and we enjoyed the best sleep of our journey. All in all, a great experience...and a great overall value.

Hollard Gardens is 15 km from the accommodation, while Tawhiti Museum is 35 km away. New Plymouth Airport is 46 km from the property, and the property offers a free airport shuttle service. Really beautiful room with fabulous view of Mount Taranaki. Had seats outside the room on the patio separated from next door with a trellis and shrubs. There was a wonderful jacuzzi bath and separate shower. Breakfast was lovely too, homemade muesli, yoghurt, fruit, bread, crumpets and English muffins. Great location, very quiet and peaceful, but just a few minutes drive to the National Park and great walks. Trish was great too, very friendly and helpful. Exceptional value for money. Would definitely recommend. There were facilities for massages etc, which we didn’t try.

Tudor Motel is within a 10-minute drive of both Hawera Golf Club and Te Ngutu Golf Club. New Plymouth and Mount Taranaki are a 50-minute drive away. The motel is a 1-hour drive from Wanganui. Friendly owners, made us feel welcome. The rooms were clean and in good working condition.

Stunningly no sunsets and if you are standing on that front porch with your coffee you almost have that feeling you are in the hobbit’s Shire. Very short drive to New Plymouth and Taranaki Maunga.
